My mom is already established at Tanglewood Trace and has been there for seven weeks. They're very good, friendly, and helpful. They know just about everybody's name, including my mom's and mine. They are giving my mom her medications, and we also have her with hospice. My mom loves the food, and they're service-oriented to the residents. The place is very clean and they try and do what they can to make the residents feel at home and comfortable, supplying activities and social interaction for them. Mom's room has big windows, and it's bright and airy.
I thought Tanglewood Trace was very homey, the atmosphere was nice, and it smelled nice, and clean. They were very accommodating, I found the apartments very nice, and I was impressed. They provide three meals a day, housekeeping, and laundry. They can go places on the bus, and they post where they will be going.
We chose Tanglewood Trace because it was very clean, the price was correct, and it had a lot of activities that we would want to do. The people were very friendly and cordial. They have a barbershop, exercise, and transportation for the residents. They serve two meals a day. We stayed for three days and will be back to live there next week.
Tanglewood Trace was very nice, but it would be too expensive for my sister in the assisted living part. It's our understanding that when their husband was in the service during the Vietnam War, that they get quite a deduction in the nursing home part. We had misunderstood on the phone that it was assisted living or nursing home care that they get a deduction on. It's only for the nursing home. We had lunch there and there was a lot of choices and it was homemade food, everything from meat to potatoes, vegetables and sandwiches. They had a huge amount of choices for the noontime meal. It is just a super nice place. They had two different kinds of rooms, and they were very nice. They have Bingo and different things like that. They have a monthly calendar which shows the different activities for the residents. The staff seemed very helpful. They explained the different activities, but I was not a witness there to any of those.
My mother will be moving into Tanglewood Trace. It's on one level, and it doesn't seem like a nursing home. The lady who runs the place and manages it is very nice, very outgoing, and very down-to-earth. It's a nice facility, not that old, about 17 years old. The location is good. It's just a good place for my mother. They have three meals a day, they set times for the meals, and there's an optional meal if you don't like the one they have. They have laundry service and transportation to and from doctors' appointments.
Tanglewood Trace is convenient and centrally located to shopping and everywhere. They take good care of you, and the food is not really all that bad. There are all kinds of activities, but I hardly get involved. They have fast-food Friday, and you can order whatever their specialty is. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can make arrangements to be taken to and picked up for doctors' appointments or you can go on your own. They have a beauty salon and a barber shop combined and laundry service. They have plenty of nurses and CNAs.
