My mother moved into Cadence at Mt. Zion. After I viewed the facility, I found everything in order, and their administration was very accommodating with my needs. I've had no issues with them, everything was explained, and they went out to my mom's home, instead of her going to them. My mom has no complaints with the food, and they just restarted revamping of their program of activities.
Cadence at Mt. Zion was nice, but the activities were minimum. They said they had more than what they had, but they weren't bad. The staff was OK. It didn't work for my friend, but overall they were good. The food in the cafeteria was good for the most part. They did activities according to the holidays. My friend was there for about a year.
The rooms at Cadence at Mt. Zion were nice. The staff was okay. They had a library right off the lobby, and they had an open area. The location seemed a little off the beaten path.
Everything so far is great at Cadence at Mt. Zion. The staff is pleasant and very nice. My mother's apartment is just a room with a bathroom and closet. The food was nice. I think for seniors it's overpriced. I like that you didn't have to go up and down stairs because it's one level.
Elmcroft of Mt. Zion and its people were very nice. They were very informative, caring, and showed a lot of interest. Mark kept up with me as far as visiting because I had to cancel a lot of times. I'm very impressed. It's first class all the way.
I really liked Elmcroft of Mt. Zion and the way it was set up. The director and the lady who runs the Alzheimer's part were really good. The rooms weren't really large, but they were about the right size because in memory care you don't really need large rooms since it confuses people. The staff was very knowledgeable and the director who runs the place seemed very interested too.
If I had to put Mom some place, it would be Elmcroft of Mount Zion. You walk into it and everybody treats you like you're part of the family. They're very friendly and thoughtful, and the person I sat down with was very cordial and openminded. We had good conversations about what my mom needed and what they had to offer. They gave me a lot of information. It was very clean. They had different areas for activities. The room was excellent. I liked the bathroom in particular as far as safety for her because she's 87. They had all the safety features like she could sit down or walk straight in there without having to step over a tub. It had the railings in there for her to pull up. They showed me more than one size room. Even the smallest room had plenty of room. The facility was very homey and the correct size; it wasn't too large and overwhelming for her, and it was very clean. They also had a section for memory care/Alzheimer's.
Elmcroft of Mt. Zion is a beautiful community, it is all one level which can be convenient for individuals dependent on wheelchairs for mobility and the building is not very big which gives it a nice home like touch. This community struggles with high caregiver and clinical leadership turnover. I did not witness any activities during my visit, the community was very quiet but there were a few residents in the common areas that appeared to be clean, happy and content. The community exterior is well landscaped and maintained and the interior is nicely decorated. This is certainly a senior living option and I would recommend this community but family/responsible party involvement would be required.
