Description of The Social at Vinings

The Social at Vinings senior living community offers a variety of studios and one-bedroom apartments for seniors who value their independence but require assistance with some tasks. The community team members are available throughout the day to help with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, grooming and transferring.

Residents can spend their days taking part in organized activities, including fitness classes, arts and crafts projects, happy hour and games sessions. In their free time, seniors can read in the grand library or attend on-site devotional services. They can join their friends and neighbors on regular day trips into Atlanta.

The campus gardens feature walking paths and three different courtyard areas with views of the Atlanta skyline. The community also offers staycations where potential residents or those recovering from surgery can stay for a short duration.

I visited this facility

I was very impressed because it's a fairly new facility. It was very clean, very modern, and the people were very nice. I was just disappointed because all they have are apartments with one bedroom, and all the ones I looked at were small, but they've got enough room that you could certainly do OK there. The staff was great and invited us over for lunch. The location was perfect for us. I was just impressed with everything about it, the way it looked, and the people I met there.

I visited this facility

It was a nice and clean place. They had nice rooms, a nice open area, and nice staff. Their dining room was open. Residents were being served restaurant-style, not cafeteria-style. They showed me different room options; however, my dad needs more care and assistance than they can offer.

I visited this facility

It was very nice and had beautiful carpeting. The community seemed a little older, and there was a lot of assisted living there. It reminded me almost of a nursing home. The apartments were nice and clean but didn't have kitchens or stoves, so you can't cook or prepare your own food. They had card games and shopping once a week. They had beautiful rooms, which you could use for dinners, parties, and meetings. Independent people could come and go. The dining area was one big room with tables and chairs and had the same pretty carpeting.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

I live in Brookdale Vinings. There aren't many amenities here. They have food and lodging, but there aren't many activity programs. I just thought it would have younger people. People here are on average 90 years old. My room is nice. I have one of the smaller rooms, but it's OK. After I moved in, it just wasn't up to my expectations. The marketing person was just so wonderful that I didn't look anywhere else.

I Visited This Community

If you know anything about the Vinings area, you know how nice it is. Well this community is no different. The staff and amenities are top notch; however I found the community representative to be a little over zealous...I guess that's her job. The grounds and the facility were very clean. I did taste the food via an event I attended there and overall, I thought it was tasty. During the tour, it appeared that the residents were pleased and everyone spoke to us as though they had been knowing us for years. I was impressed!

I Visited This Community

This community has in-house physical therapy. They have two LPNs for their wellness care that are VERY active and involved in patient care. Also, it is a clean building and it is in an excellent location.
