I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident

I chose Brighton Gardens of Buckhead for my mother because it has the most residential atmosphere. It smells fresh and clean. The staff members are very friendly. However, I can say that they are terrible once you're in there. There is nobody to follow up. There is not one person on the floor because everybody is at lunch, and they left my mother there. It is atrocious at this point. My mother has been there for three weeks now. The people are friendly, but they don't do anything. If I'm paying to have these things done and I go there and find out they're not being done, don't come back and say, 'But I check your mother, and she said she is happy,' because she also got mental problems. It is very deceiving. It is not depressing, but it is strange because they'll tell you what you want to hear. They don't return phone calls, they don't return emails, they don't return texts, and that makes me feel like I'm pestering them. It is frustrating. My mom doesn't do any of the amenities. She hasn't gone anywhere since she got there except they have taken her to the hair appointment and nail appointment. The food is not well balanced. They give them all the ice cream and desserts they want. They are overly friendly, but they do not do anything. They just tell you exactly what you want to hear to make you feel better and then they go about their business.

Brighton Gardens of Buckhead was fantastic. I really liked the facilities altogether. The person who took care of me was great. Everything was new, fresh, and clean. They had a pretty full social calendar. The residents seemed very connected to each other and socialize with one another.

I Visited This Community

Brighton Gardens originated as a Marriott property and was started with consistent, solid management. Those traits have continued. The Buckhead property offers a staff with caring "helpers" who are trained and managed to offer the most appropriate care to residents with a variety of support needs. The residence ambiance is cheerful and homey, the food good, the friendships encouraging. Sometimes the halls are "long to negotiate" so mobility may become an important factor for consideration in choosing to live at this Assisted Living place.
