Starting Cost per Month:
1. Food. 2. Time of meals served. 3. No response to calls for maintenance man's help. 4. Chicken noodle soup with whole baby carrots (?). 5. Chicken noodle soup with peas (?). 6. Food way too salty! 7. Ground beef undercooked (gray in color). Just this week there has been a slight improvement, because I think they brought in a head chef to monitor the two that were doing it, cause I actually thought those two should've gone to cooking school. I mean, who can't make soup? I am pleased with my room, but there are certain things you wish were different, like as you come in the door there's about 2 inches under the door that's just wide open lets critters in. There's some cracks and things. But our biggest thing we don't care for is we have a balcony and instead of being enclosed with glass, it's enclosed with flimsy kind of, I guess net or a screen. And that screen, I don't know whether because the wedges were thicker for glass when it was in there, all kinds of bees and hornets and geckos come in. So we now have 4 geckos living out there, which are not my favorite things, so I'm not sitting out there. We had it furnished with white wicker furniture that we had brought with us. That's my biggest complaint.
My father-in-law is in the Isles of Vero Beach. He likes it a lot. Meredith who runs the place is being really helpful. I have nothing but good things to say, except for the COVID situation. When someone gets COVID they need to stop things and test everyone, but I guess everyone is going through the same thing. He likes the foot a lot, he does not need to cook, and the food is really good. If we ask for things they get back to us really fast, and the staff seems really caring. In general, it's way better than we expected.
Isles of Vero Beach was so nice. The people were friendly. My friend loved it. She loved the fact that she would be able to stay outside on her rocking chair. The room was beautiful, very roomy, very spacious, and very well maintained. I would definitely recommend that to anybody who can afford it. The staff was good. The residents seemed to enjoy the food, and it looked good to me.
I stayed at Isles of Vero Beach for a couple of months, and I was not happy with them. I had a temperature, and they put me in a room that had an AC set at 60 and wouldn't go below. It was horrible. I left, and they wouldn't give me my money back and charged me an extra $4,000 when I left. They provided three meals a day. I don't like eating in the dining room and being waited on since it wastes too much time. I prefer making my food at home or go and get it. They did cleaning once a week and had a pool. I liked the room. It was like an efficiency with an extra room and a balcony, so it had a little bit of extra space that some of the others didn't have. The lady who I dealt with I would rate a 1, but the other staff was nicer. The food in general wasn't healthy. It wasn't anything special. It was a nice enough building.
