The city of Sanford, Florida is a very tight-knit community. In 2012, the city launched its “Imagine Sanford” campaign which encourages residents to get involved in city planning and provide feedback to make Sanford the city that everyone dreams it to be. The Renaissance Retirement Center is the same way. In our community's construction, we were mindful of the details that make retirement living a more enjoyable experience for seniors.
Renaissance Retirement Center is a proud to be a part of the Holiday Retirement family of communities. Founded in 1971, Holiday Retirement provides residents a one-of-a-kind lifestyle in an accepting community of neighbors who feel like family.
With a restaurant-style dining room, an outdoor patio area with barbecues, spacious apartment floor plans with walk-in closets, wall-to-wall carpeting and lighted vanities, and a full calendar of activities, half of the fun at the Renaissance is showing up! Our community offers independent and assisted living services to allow seniors to enjoy their retirement on their own terms.
Our beautiful manicured lawn and gardens with walking paths provide plenty of opportunity for exercise and enjoyment by residents and visitors. An outdoor patio has tables and chairs offering a comfortable spot for a cup of tea or card game with a friend. With a small library, pool table and even a player-piano in the building, our residents always find something to do.
Our recreation staff schedule a wide variety of both indoor and outdoor activities daily, as well as special events and entertainment. For those who need transportation off the grounds, we offer a shuttle service that goes to locations around the area.
Care and personal assistance are available 24 hours a day at Renaissance Retirement Center. Our staff are trained to help with most activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing and walking. A licensed nurse oversees all personalized care plans and is able to coordinate care with outside medical providers when needed.
Renaissance Retirement Center provides family-style living for seniors who wish to maintain their independence but need a bit of assistance.

My aunt is a resident of Renaissance Retirement Center. The place is fine, although they could do be better with communication, but it's working out still. The apartment my aunt has is sufficient, we're happy with the three meals provided, and medication. They clean the apartment and do her laundry, they also have activities for the residents, and there are nurses 24/7. She's happy with the food. The staff is assisting her with bathing and eating, but the administrative staff isn't responsive.
Hi Lora, Thank you for sharing your experience with us. Ensuring a great life for our residents is our top priority, and we are glad to hear that your aunt is enjoying our community. We appreciate your feedback, as we are always looking to improve and create the best environment and communication possible with our families. Please give our executive director a call at (407) 323-7306, and we are happy to discuss your concerns in more detail. Thank you!
The staff at Renaissance Retirement is really great. They're on the second floor and since it's only three floors, they have quick access to the patients on the first and third floors. My mom has been eating there better than she has in a long time. It's a really good community. The rooms are larger, so it's easier for her to get around without falling. The RNs check on her regularly, and they have rehab rooms on the same floor. She's getting desperately needed rehab, and it's not with portable machines that can cause nips and tucks on her skin, but instead she's getting a workout with awesome machines and she's getting better.
My mother has moved into Renaissance Retirement Center. She has been there for two weeks now. They have a one-time non-refundable community entry fee for the same price as your monthly rent, but you get absolutely nothing for doing that. You get no services whatsoever for the fee. It is an extra $2,000 they want for you to move in. If you disagree with them about it, they'll eventually waive that fee. The management is bad. They need to improve. Nevertheless, their apartments are awesome. The staff members are awesome too. The activities are pretty good, and they seem to have a lot.
Renaissance Retirement Center is clean and well kept. What I like about it is the fact that it is close to my stepmom's family. They live close enough to the area that they could visit. Also, since my stepmom is scared of heights, I needed something that is not a high-rise. The room felt roomy. I feel like my parents' existing furniture would fit well into it. I felt like it would be comfortable. The people are friendly and very courteous. The thing that I am impressed with is that they keep calling, so I feel like they are concerned. They're sympathetic to the needs of older people and offer different programs that will try to incorporate my parents into the community, so that is a nice option.
