Marion Woods was very well run, very clean, and it seemed like a nice community. The people we met that lived there seemed happy and the management seemed concerned and involved in every person, which was impressive to us. It had everything in between and all the amenities. It had a beautiful pool and a grill. There's pretty much a place to do everything. If you want to walk, there's a beautiful trail around the property. Everything was just super nice. All in all, we were very much impressed. My dad is 93 years old and not much impresses him, so that is like an extra brownie points for them. The rooms were very nice and very clean. They redo the carpet, and they paint so that everything is brand new each time someone leaves and before you move in. The floor plans were nice. They had everything. It felt very safe as well. The rooms were nice, the accessibility to them, everything is on one level, and they offer a lot of choices. They had studios and they had rooms as big as 2-bedrooms and 2-baths. So, you can be really like in an efficiency pretty much with one big room or you can be in the largest one, which is like a small home in a way as it has a lot of space. The price goes up as you get into bigger accommodations, but what we liked in the community was that it is a senior living residence, not an assisted living community. So, the residents are able to maintain as much independence as they want to, but there is backup for when they go. The minute you don't feel like driving anymore, there is a bus to take you. Everything is right there. There is a barbershop there. The other thing is that if you get to a point where you would need physical therapy or you need someone to come in and clean or anything like that, they have a list of people that they have used that are vetted by them and that they would recommend. They probably have already been coming to the community for other people. If you need somebody to help you, they know who to call; that was another perk as well. I could do a whole shoot on how good a community Marion Woods was.

I visited this facility

I was very impressed with Marion Woods. My wife and I liked it very much. The general appearance was very good. The people were very nice. I saw the dining room. I had lunch over there one time and the food was very good. The place was very clean. There's no smell or odor whatsoever. It's very well taken care of. They have a lot of activities. I saw them playing bingo, chess, and doing puzzles. Somebody was playing music when I was there.

I toured Marion Woods, and it was gorgeous, but it was too costly for me. The staff was excellent, I had a lovely meal there, and the dining room was elegant. They have a computer room and a library.

Marion Woods is a very pretty community, but the people are probably too old for me. The staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant, the lady that I talked to gave me all the information, and told me that I can decide whenever I'm ready. They also sent me invitations to things that I might like. The place is very nice and clean.

I Visited This Facility

Marion Woods is a grand place. It has three different apartments, two studios, and one-bedrooms. They also have nice guest suites for $50 a night so you can have guests visit you. You won't have to have extra bedrooms, and I'm impressed with that. They have activities once or twice a week, and they get out to get ice cream or go down to the river. The food is excellent and the staff is very accommodating and very nice, from the maids, to the manager, to the cook, to the waitresses. It's exceptional from beginning to end, and I'm amazed. The menu for breakfast and supper and the way the food is prepared and presented is amazing.

My parents chose Marion Woods. It was friendly, warm, clean, and comfortable. They liked that it was familiar and that they had bingo and card games. They had friends that already went there. The food was excellent. They had a library, salon, movie room, activities area, and pool.

I Visited This Facility

Marion Woods is a modern, up-to-date independent living facility area with all the staffing and amenities a person might require. It was a little bit more expensive than some of the others in the area because it's a fairly new and a fairly modern community. The director was well-mannered, polite, and well-informed. The activities were inside one of the main meeting areas or communal areas. There wasn't any major group organizational activity during that time. They were just playing cards. I saw the weight room, the card room, and the dining area. I went to three different types of rooms. I didn't actually sample or see any of the food, but I was shown where the dining facility was. I was told that normally they don't give tours there during dining hours and they don't normally have people that aren't members of the community to actually partake in the meals, but you can do that if you request it.

Marion Woods is fantastic. The staff and the people there are genuine and very nice. The food is excellent. They are renovating the whole place and making it more fantastic. It's a wonderful place to live. It's affordable, and the price is very fair for what's available. My mother is in a very nice 600 square foot apartment which is overlooking the pool area.

I like how clean Marion Woods was. It was beautiful; it was really a nice home. The staff member who assisted us was very informative and very knowledgeable. He was good. The people that I met were very nice and very thorough. They have a library and a pool table. They were playing Bingo and doing exercises in the big pool. They really have a lot of nice features. They also offer housekeeping. Their laundry machines are on every hall so you can do your laundry on your own or they can do it for you. The only trouble is that it is expensive.

My friend is now in Marion Woods. The appearance is nice, it's clean, and I like it. That's where she wanted to go, so that's where we put her. She said that they have activities and she is having fun, so that's a good thing. I had gone to the dining area with her when we were just checking the place out and I thought everything was really nice, but lately she has been telling me that there have been complaints about the food, either they're running out or it's just not up to par. It's very reasonably priced compared to everywhere else she has been.

Marion Woods was modern, had a pool, was very professionally run, and had top shelf organization. They had a variety of floor plans to pick from. The dining area was very nice, and the pool area was clean. I was impressed with the professionalism of the chef and the service staff. I saw various activities going on in the facility, and everybody was happy.

I Visited This Facility

Marion Woods was very nice. We were impressed with the staff and how they treated and housed the patients. They seemed to be very caring. The food was very nice, it was plentiful, and there's many options to choose from -- they treated us like wonderful guests. They had an activity room, it was decorated with something to bring back people's memories, like an old wedding dress or a crib. That was very thoughtful. What stood out to me was the caring and intimacy. The community is small and you'd know that you're not just one of a few hundred people.
