Carlisle Palm Beach's staff treated me very well, but I couldn't afford it. It was great, and I enjoyed looking out onto the ocean, which was a walk across the street. The inside was very nice and seemed to be well-kept. It's not a new building, though. They had a pool and transportation to doctors' offices if you needed it.
The rooms at Carlisle Palm Beach are super small, the 2-bedroom has a very small kitchen, and living area. It's a lovely place, but its only fine if you're a super active senior, but not for somebody who's pretty homebound. The staff was very nice, but it's just not what my parents need. They have activities to do that looked fun. It has a nice setting, but they're redoing it right now.
Please read this before you decide to place your loved ones in memory care at The Carlisle. I wish I had known beforehand the devastation that this would have on our 85 year old dad, a 20 year US Air Force test and fighter pilot and Korean War veteran. Dad has advanced dementia/Alzheimer’s disease and sometimes becomes agitated and combative. After our mother passed away in May 2014, I moved Dad down to South Florida to live in The Carlisle near me so I could visit him almost every day. We also hired 24/7 private aides to care for him at that facility. Perhaps being too new to memory care, The Carlisle has some untrained aides and nurses as it relates to defusing agitation/aggression. There are also some that are very good and are experienced and caring. At the end of January of 2015, unfortunately, The Carlisle felt they should call 911 as Dad became combative and the police report showed they were called about a “mentally ill person” and Baker-Acted him. I wish they had just told me to come and pick him up and never bring him back and I would have complied without hesitation. We were in the process of trying to get his meds right. A nightmare ensued of a total of 18 days in the hospital (2 ½ days in the psyche unit completely drugged) and 6 weeks later he is still in rehab trying to learn how to walk again. He lost 25 pounds, developed an infection and, mysteriously, acquired an acute fractured rib while in the 1st hospital visit. Please find out if any ALF that you are considering will handle these situations where your loved one and family might be put in the same devastating and life altering situation that our family is now in. I understand that a Florida representative is working on a new bill to present hopefully at the next session to change the laws of Baker-Acting dementia/Alzheimer’s patients.
The staff and residents all seem to be very happy at this property. It is situated in a beautiful location with lots of activities going on.
We had our mother at The Carlisle for over three years and could have not been more pleased with the care, the attention, the meals and the respect she received from the staff and management. This has been improved even more with the appointment of Justin Brown as Managing Director. I would recommend The Carlisle for anyone looking for a five star and reasonably priced venue for a loved one. John and Monique Guffey
As a member of a resident's family I found the senior staff to be very responsive and out of the box creative on solving issues. They try to do well and succeed.
The staff are hard working and caring. The food is prepared and presented well. It is having staff that you can depend on that makes it what it is, five star!
I looked all over for a special place for my mom. First off I fell in love with Natasha Deonath she was warm kind and very honest. This was a very stressful time for me since I tend to be the decision maker. Any ways we had some challenges selling her home and we backed out a few times moving in. When the time came Natasha honored the price and the apartment . The first thing that we liked was it did not feel like a retirement home it felt like a upscale hotel. No place is perfect but if your outgoing and want to meet people this is the place to be. My mother is SO VERY HAPPY I wish we did this five years age. It has given me such peace of mind . Judy Simon
This is a wonderful community. I looked at The Carlisle for my mother. They she is very independent and was looking for a socialization and the ability to be with other people, I met with several members of the sales team and they are outstanding. I had lunch a the community and my mother fell inlove with the dining program and really enjoyed her experience. She is now living at The Carlisle have been their for 3 month and is now saying to friends she should have moved 5 years ago.
