I am a friend or relative of a current/past resident
My father was in Sunrise of Jacksonville before he died. It was very nice. When my father passed, they were very personable. His apartment was spacious, they had private rooms, and then like two people would have their own bedrooms, but they shared a common bathroom. They were like extended family to him. They had bingo, crossword puzzles,and lots of word games. They had a courtyard at the back, and he took care of the raised garden. He said the food was very good. He loved it.

My dad moved into Sunrise of Jacksonville. It's a small community, not too small, with lots of hands-on, one-on-one attention given to the residents. They serve three meals a day. They offer help depending on the residents' needs. In memory care they have cooking classes, gardening, music, and they have outside activities, coffee with the veterans, they take them on bus rides to the zoo, or shopping. They have full schedules everyday for the residents. I'm very pleased so far with the amount of attention they're giving to my father, and also the response to my questions, emails, or comments, and they're very reactive. They have a 1-bedroom, studios, and they're both spacious.

I visited this facility
I saw both the assisted living and memory care of Sunrise of Jacksonville. It was nice, very clean, and it was like a huge hotel. They seemed to actively try to reach all the residents one way or another. There was not a lot going on there; I didn't see any kind of activity. But the rooms were nice. They had a cafe, a deli shop downstairs, and a comfortable living room. There was an elevator and I was glad for that beca````use I have bad knees. They had a beauty shop, too. The staff seemed very attentive. The building was very clean, very nice, and comfortable, but nothing was really going on. It was really quiet and subdued. I thought this would depress my daddy.

I visited this facility
Sunrise of Jacksonville was humongous and they had different levels of care. The place was pretty and the rooms were nice looking. The staff was very helpful, but the tour and the introduction was a little less personal.
