We chose Lake Forest Park because of the price. They have nice private villas and lots of greenery around. The staff is very nice, but the food is institutional. There are lots of things going on that we like. It's been a satisfying move. We plan and do many things as a group in independent living. We have regular pizza parties, social meetings every Saturday, coffee time, groups come in to entertain and educate, they go on trips, and they take you shopping or to your doctors.
I went to Lake Forest Park. I loved the place, but it was too expensive for me. They were playing cards in the activity room, the dining area was nice, the staff was amazing, very kind, and very sweet, but I could not afford it. I saw the library and the rooms were not so big. The rooms were located on the second floor.
Lake Forest Park was very nice. The staff was very accommodating and very friendly. The apartments were absolutely beautiful. It's perfect for people who are independent, but dependent. The only bad thing was the location for us because we're in South Stuart. The arts and crafts building had a musty smell, and there was nothing going on there.
Lake Forest Park was great. The director was really helpful and professionaI. I really liked what I saw. I've gotten feedback from a resident there that the food wasn't good, and my mom has a very particular diet. They have a lot of activities. It's a smaller community and I personally like that because it seemed like there'd be a lot of individualized attention. I liked the size of the main units that were in the main buildings, and I really liked the individual independent living units around the lake.
