I visited this facility

My parents moved into Woodlands Village. It looks OK, but I didn't see a lot of activities when we were moving them in. The apartment is fine for them, it's spacious, and it seems to be OK. The staff members I saw seemed nice. The dining room is nice, and the facility is older, but fairly well maintained.

Business Response

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Our goal is to have happy residents and family members so your feedback is very important to us! Thank you.

My friend seems to be adjusting OK at Woodlands Village. I like the place and she likes the food, but they're having trouble keeping their staff members. The man who was there when we originally came was gone overnight, and the main officer who did the intake was also gone. They don't have a nurse on-staff. The place seems clean, but some things are dilapidated, part of the wooden railing on the side door is missing, and some hallways need new carpeting. The dining room seems clean and has pretty tablecloths. It's an old building, but they're doing the best they can with it at the moment. I like the layout, and I like the little porches off their rooms.

My mother-in-law moved into Woodlands Village. The staff is very good and very concerned. The food is pretty good, and she thinks it’s great. It’s a well-run, nice, and clean community, they keep it up nicely.

Business Response

Woodlands Village is a good place for people who are on limited funds. The meal we had was OK. The people were very friendly. They had one-bedroom units with a patio that goes outside and it's one-story, which is nice. It's a nice-looking facility but it's in a bad neighborhood. It's not top-of-the-line but it's still a really good place.

I am/was a resident of this facility

Woodlands Village is older, comfortable, and feels good to me. The apartments are small, but I'm very happy with it. There's enough to do, and if you want something, they'll do it for you. So far it's a really nice experience. Everybody seems very happy about the activities. They play cards and bingo every now and then. Most of those things are not what I'm used to. I asked the staff member about painting classes, and she said she'll arrange for it one day which is good. I'm happy. There's a security level that I feel good about here, and I like the feeling of the apartment. I don't think the wait staff really likes people that much. If you don't like the menu, they have a chef there who can always make something. They have healthy choices and something for everyone. If I don't feel well, they'll bring the food to me in my room. It's very accommodating. I like the fact that they're very meticulous.

My brother-in-law is in Woodlands Village. The living area that he's in has done very well. The apartment is big. We found the pricing reasonable for what he's getting. So far, everything is going well. When he first moved in, there were some minor issues, and he addressed them with the staff. They were very accommodating, and sat down with us and talked about the facility. There are tons of activities, like chair exercises, they have a library, they go on trips, various entertainment comes in, there's trivia, they take them to the supermarket, they have baseball game outings and dinner if you want to participate. He seems good with the food. He has a living room, a kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom.

Business Response

Woodlands Village was a large community and the people were helpful. The lady in-charged of admissions walked me around and did a really nice job. She was very helpful and informative, she showed me the various rooms, and showed me the meal facilities. They were also willing to bargain with me in terms of rates. It was my second choice community.

Woodlands Village was a little bit on the old side, and it is made out of wood. It felt like the floors were spongy when you walk on them. I thought it was just a fire trap waiting for fire. They showed me the one bedroom and one and a half bedroom. They were clean and I liked how they were laid out. The staff seemed nice and professional. They showed me the dining room and the library too. I liked the individual apartments, but I did not really care for the rest of it.

Business Response

Woodlands Village was pretty decent, nice, and the staff was all very helpful and treated us with respect. The dining room was very nice and clean. The general condition of the place was clean, but dated.

The apartments at Woodlands Village were big, but they need to remodel them and give it an upgrade. As far as sizes were concerned, their layouts were a little better but it was not something I would put my father-in-law into. They had one big room for bingo. It was more of a cozy facility. As I walked in, there were about three or four staff members outside having cigarettes. My impression of the residents was that it was more of an assisted living and it really felt like an old people's home. They were doing trips out to Wal-Mart and Target; it all seems to be around convenience and retail.

Woodlands Village was nice but too big to walk down the hall. The rooms were nice. I didn't like that the dining room was first-come, first-served so some people were kind of catty about where they sat, but the food was good.

Woodlands Village was worn and old. The grounds were not very well-kept and the interior facility is just old. The staff seemed fine. The rooms were fairly standard but decent-sized. They had a dining room and the tiny little library. One of the negatives for us was there weren't individual washers and dryers, just a community washer and dryer. The one thing that concerned me greatly was I asked to take a look in the kitchen and I was told I couldn't do that. The layout was very nice in terms of how the rooms were centered around the communal activities.

The rooms at Woodlands Village were very small, and we were not impressed with the place. The dining area was very small and crowded, and people were waiting in the hallway for people to finish eating, so they could go in and eat. They had elevators, but it's an old place.

Woodlands Village was a very shabby place. The room size was fine, but the ones that I viewed were old. The smell of bleach was so overwhelming that I don't know what they were trying to cover up. It was just not well maintained at all, inside and out. The people were very nice, and everyone was very friendly, but it was not well maintained. Everyone was happy and they were busy. There was a very friendly atmosphere. However, the landscaping was overgrown. Every room had a window, but it was so dirty. Everything was dirty. They really need to clean it up.
