I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My father is here and seems quite content. He is 98 and he isn't very active so he doesn't participate in the activities offered but I see that there is a lot to chose from. Everyone has always been very friendly and caring. I visit him weekly so I do see a lot of what goes on. He is able to get his hair cut, see a podiatrist, get his hearing checked, visit a doctor, see a nurse, among other services, without leaving the building. We have been very pleased we chose this place for him.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My father was at LS and I have to say it was the worst experiance of my Dad's life. There was this Connie lady who was always so rude to him when he would go downstairs. After awhile it made him feel so uncomfortable that he stared refusing to go join the activities. He would go down and eat and then come do right back to his apartment when he was done. I even tried to talk to Connie about this but she kept denying anything and told me it was my old man's fault. That was the end of that. After that I placed my Dad in a different place...which he loves by the way. It was the best move I ever made.

Provider Response

Having served so many wonderful residents and families, it is difficult to respond to a review like this without knowing this individual’s specific circumstances. What is described here is not what Library Square is about. On the contrary, our philosophy is to offer older adults many opportunities to become involved because we know that social engagement is an integral part of quality of life. We encourage people to participate in as many of the activities that align with their lifestyle and interests. That being said, we also respect people’s power of choice — they have the right to choose their level of involvement. We have so many of our residents and families actively promote our community as being so friendly and warm that it is very concerning that this reviewer felt otherwise. We encourage her to give us a call so that we can discuss those concerns and make any necessary adjustments in our approach. For those who are considering a community for their loved one, we encourage them to stop by, talk with staff as well as other residents, and see first-hand what life is like at Library Square - - a warm, welcoming community with so much to offer older adults and their families.
