The Activity department shows attention to the residents at the Terrace only. The "Residential Assistance" ( Not CNA's) staff do not feed, nor get a loved one to/ from the main dining room, they do not help them with any care in the bed room areas. Your loved one is left alone and not care for if they are in their rooms. You might as well get your own personal caregiver to aid your loved one for any grooming, toileting, shower,& dressing and feeding needs. This supposed "Memory unit" is only for Mild Dementia patients who can take themselves to meals, toilet self, and do their own care for themselves. We have observed first hand over months, that they only have one person at night in dining room, and the other aid is not in Terrace but wandering the facility somewhere. Dad was over dosed 3 times by Residential Assistants who do not and should not be in charge of distributing medications(RN over seeing this program should be fired!). Dad was not fed if we(family)could not get him to the dining room. He was not cleaned up and left cold with no blanket and in soiled clothes most days/ nights if family did not help him. We did not know what we were paying for. We even brought in our own food to keep him alive. If he had a BM/ bladder accident, he was not ever care for by staff. Showers were done by out side support care. I would never, ever allow my loved one to go to this supposed " Memory Unit".

I Am A Current/Past Resident
"From the moment we moved into The Gardens, my husband and I knew it was the right move for us. Both staff and residents have been so very helpful and pleasant, especially with the adjustment to downsizing and move-in. And with the abundance of activities and programs offered by The Gardens both on and off site, we are never at a loss to fill our days." Signed....Joyce R.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
Mom is in memory care, what a wonderful team of staff members, these folks take the extra steps to make it wonderful for Mom. They always are on top of the needs of their community, take the extra time to listen and please, I know my Mom is safe & taken care of from the time She wakes up until She goes to bed. The activities are daily, may it be Bingo, karaoke , puzzles, identification games, Wii,, these folks like to have fun. Mom is a picky eater, She won't eat a lot of things, they figured out how to make her happy , may it be a peanut butter & Jelly toasted sandwich , or a special Vanilla milk shake ( made of heathy ingredient of coarse ) this team takes the extra steps.. Mom care is awesome, they handle her like she is their Mom. They care and it really shows, she is really happy , and clean & always has that great smile. The Gardens is very clean, they take pride in their interiors, and the exterior gardens are beautiful , and what a great place to go out and enjoy. Overall this was my pick of all memory care facilities in Bellevue .

I Visited This Community
The Gardens is located in a very convenient place near downtown Bellevue. Lots of things going on close by. The building is a few years old but well kept. Apartments are large, especially the studios and some of the views are very nice. Linen table cloths and fine dining and a big focus on the arts make this place a desirable place to live. It is moderately priced for its location.
