I Visited This Facility
The staff that I spoke to at Parkway Chateau was very informative and the residents seemed to be enjoying the activities. It's an older building, so there were some idiosyncrasies. It could probably use some upgrades and a little bit of a facelift. They try really hard to do the best with what they've got considering it's an older building. I saw few of the units that they recently renovated and they did a really nice job making them look newer and more contemporary. I just think that maybe they're a little bit corporate minded. I think that they're owned by a larger entity, so there seemed to be a little bit of a slight disconnect between the staff and the residents.

Description of Solstice Senior Living at Bellingham
Nestled in a quiet corner of Bellingham, a community ranked by Money Magazine and AARP as a top 10 place to live, you'll love all there is to see and do in this beautiful, exciting community. We're home to the American Museum of Radio and Electricity, the Mount Baker Theatre and the Whatcom Symphony Orchestra. Our town is rich in natural beauty, like the Bellingham Bay, Whatcom Falls and we're close to scenic Mount Baker's snow covered peaks. Residents can also watch Orca whales from the nearby San Juan Islands. Our warm and dedicated staff wants you to feel like family, and you'll wish you'd found Parkway Chateau sooner.
Parkway Chateau is proud to be a Holiday Retirement community. Since 1971, Holiday Retirement has been creating superb residential communities where seniors feel a sense of home and belonging. This is what we like to call “The Holiday Touch.”
Parkway Chateau offers spacious studio and one- or two-bedroom layouts. Apartments feature wall-to-wall carpeting, kitchenettes and full baths with safety bars. Some units have patios. Your pet cat or dog is warmly welcome.
Our lovely common areas feature high ceilings and large windows, inviting in ample natural light. Residents enjoy activities in our billiards lounge, fitness room and TV room. We offer many engaging activities including happy hours and exercise classes. Outside, our patio surrounded by abundant foliage is a great place to read on a warm day.
If you take a close look around our community, you may notice that a few of our residents stand out. These are our Community Managers, who live on site to provide 24-hour support and security. You'll see them sharing a meal with residents in our dining room, attending one of our social events and taking the time to make sure each and every one of our residents feel welcomed and included.
We understand that each individual is unique and that needs may change over time. Holiday does not provide any health care services. However, residents are welcome to receive services from any outside home health care provider of their choice to help them continue enjoying life at our community.
For retirement living with that extra special touch, look no further than Parkway Chateau.
