I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
My father was at Patriot's Landing for over a year. During that time, he was hospitalized TWICE due to neglect by staff. Most of the staff was VERY rude to me and blamed ME for demanding answers about why my father was allowed to become so ill. Also, TWO MONTHS of my father's medication went missing (and was NEVER found). I removed my father from Patriot's Landing and had him admitted to the VA, where he received EXCELLENT care. Don't let the physical beauty of Patriot's Landing fool you. If your loved one lives at Patriot's Landing and is unable to fend for himself/herself, PL is a DANGEROUS PLACE.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
As a family member who visits quite often, I have seen changes that are disappointing and quite frankly worrisome. Changes began with new management and while I know change is to be expected, I cannot provide the glowing review I would have left when mom moved in several years ago.Let us begin with the positive. The management staff, front desk reception, and nursing that have remained are wonderful. They are dedicated, friendly, supportive and my mother loves them. The grounds continue to be lovely and activities fun and varied. The new Executive Director, is not warm or friendly, does not engage with residents, and is not great about returning phone calls. I spent time meeting with the E.D trying to get acquainted and I'm not convinced this is a career best suited or that is even enjoyed. Honestly I felt as if I was a bother. The food is no longer tasty and actually is quite bad. I will not pay to eat there as a guest any longer and bring groceries to my mother to ensure she eats. The dining staff changes frequently so one must wonder why? There are new fees, the coffee stations on each floor have been removed, house-keeping is no longer done very well ( I suspect but admit I'm not certain that there is a strict time limit enforced) the quality of ingredients in the food (and special events has decreased, all with rents being increased substantially more than the cost of living or any WA state cost increase should support. . I encounter long time residents grumbling quite a bit and the morale has taken a toll. I could list quite a few seemingly small things but added together the whole makes a different place then what we expected upon moving mom in. Thank goodness for the staff & residents who have remained, the lovely area and my mother's general safety at PL. However, if you are interested in living there or moving your parent in, I would perform an exhaustive search of area residences and not rely on reviews prior to 1/2015.
