We had lunch with the residents of Evergreen Place. They had shared rooms, studio rooms, one-bedrooms and two-bedrooms. They had laundry services, helpers who we can pay by the hour and someone who can give the medicines to my parents. They had a doctor who visits the residents for general care, and transportation to take them to their appointments.

The management and staff were friendly. Salesperson was not so much talked poorly about other staff, management, and residents and had no respect for people. This left a bad taste in your mouth and was very pushy! The facility itself was run down looking ie bathrooms (cut out tubs), kitch ((tiny fridge on the floor which is difficult for older people to bend down to) Not much counter space for Microwave ect...) for library mismatched furniture and "gym"(Too small of a space crammed into the same area as the "Games" . The food was excellent and Chef and the staff serving the food seemed that they loved their jobs.

The community is rated as independent living however, the residents that I met were very sedate. I would say that the average age is 75 although the minimum age to move in is 55. The community dining area is themed after a cruise ship and has a very tall ceiling that reaches up 3 stories. I was invited by staff to have lunch and it smelled delicious but I did not have the time. The community is private pay only. They do work with the VA benefit aid and attendance for assistance with ADL's. They don't take medicaid. On site there are a few "cottages" that there is a waitlist for. The beautiful walking "trail" is completely paved and is gated to keep out critters. The community has laundry rooms on every floor so no trips to the basement to do laundry. The units them selves come with balcony's or patios. Cable TV is included in the rent along with utilities and transportation. I drove past the community a couple of times. The entrance is very small and not well marked and is on the side of a hill. There are small shops across the street from the community but its rather steep, so I would not recommend the neighborhood for those that like walking for exercise.

I noticed that there were people everywhere, walking, reading, visiting, waxing their car. For retired people, they were very very busy and active. The smell of the previous meal was everywhere in the entry area and it smelled wonderful. I wish I would have come to tour earlier. There was a high vaulted ceiling in the dining room area and it was a huge area. They had a real library and their own fenced outside walking path in a garden setting. The exercise room was small with only three machines but Janet the manager told me that the one piece of machinery that was perfect for seniors was their version of a sit down eliptical. I had never seen anything like it before. I would love to try it since it would take pressure off my knees. Since they don't provide assisted living I did not rate it. I did not take a meal so I really don't know how good their food is, so again I did not rate that.

Nestled amid evergreens in the highlands overlooking the city of Renton and set against the backdrop of Mount Rainier, you'll love coming home to the stunning beauty of our landscaped grounds. In spite of our secluded country feel, Evergreen Place is minutes away from the Landing Shopping Center, excellent healthcare and numerous unique local attractions to explore. Take time to visit the IKEA Performing Arts Center, the Black River Riparian Forest and the Farmers Market at the Piazza downtown.
Evergreen Place is owned and operated by Holiday Retirement, one of the leading providers of independent retirement living in the United States. Since 1971, Holiday has been creating cheerful communities for seniors who want to enjoy a carefree, all-inclusive retirement experience.
There is never a dull moment at Evergreen Place with at least eight different activities scheduled each day. Residents can be found picking up spares in a Wii bowling tournament, attending an on-site church service or centering themselves in one of our chair yoga classes. We also operate the award-winning Seniors Serving Seniors volunteer program that offers our residents opportunities to give back to the local community.
Unlike some other senior living communities, three well-balanced meals are served each day in our restaurant-style dining room as part of our all-inclusive experience. Residents also have the option of reserving our intimate private dining room for celebrations with family and friends.
While staying at our community, each resident has the opportunity to participate in our exclusive travel program. Through this program, seniors can visit nearly any of our over 300 retirement communities for up to seven nights at no additional charge. During the visit, residents will enjoy all the same service and amenities they enjoy at home while having the chance to meet new friends and experience new places.
We understand that each individual is unique and that needs may change over time. Holiday does not provide any health care services. However, residents are welcome to receive services from any outside home health care provider of their choice to help them continue enjoying life at our community.
Evergreen Place is a truly exceptional senior living community designed to please even the most discerning of Washington seniors.
