I Visited This Facility
Gayton Terrace seemed a little newer and better kept up but a bit more expensive. They seemed to be quite good, but it's primarily for assisted living versus independent living, and we definitely do not need assisted living. With assisted living, you're stuck with the staff that they have if you need help. At the other places, it would cost us extra to have people come in and help, but we have a choice of who we want and we aren't stuck with their staff. If we don't like the people who are coming in to help us, we can get somebody else, but with Brookdale, you don't have that option. Everything that we saw was fine. They had a library and a theater. After we went to it, we pretty much forgot about it.

I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility
We are at Brookdale Gayton Terrace. The staff tries to be very accommodating, but they're short-staffed. I'm not happy with the food either. I think it is overloaded with fats and carbohydrates. I think whoever makes up the menu should be fired. The activities are very good though. They have exercises, games, and movies. They have people come in and they have a party every Friday afternoon. They have other activities that are interesting. My husband is always napping so we don't participate in a lot of those things. Frankly, I wish they offered more activities in the evening.
