I Visited This Facility

All the people at Waldenbrooke Estates were very friendly. I chose a spacious two-bedroom apartment. They had a lot of activities going on all the time, and they would provide three meals a day. Housekeeping will come in once a week to change the bed linens and clean the apartment, and they would do laundry of the bed linens and the towels.

I liked Waldenbrooke, the appearance was really nice, as well as the entrance and lobby area. The two people I passed were friendly. It was expensive. They have quite a few wellness programs and they take trips.

Waldenbrooke Estates was a really nice place. It was older, which has its advantages, like the bedrooms tend to be larger compared to newer ones. It needed some landscaping in order to make it more appealing. I really liked the two-bedroom apartment with two baths. It was quite large with a nice open plan.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

The buildings we are in are very old and maintenance is a weekly problem (it seems). Waldenbrooke is more of a nursing home than a retirement facility. Air quality is a concern. The bubble ceilings constantly powder the entire apartment such that it needs dusting every other day or you can write your name in it. We are breathing this every day! Seal the ceilings? Bathrooms used by visitors look deplorable and need to be upgraded/painted. There are so many walkers and wheelchairs that it was necessary to come up with a safety plan after a resident tripped and was injured. Resident volunteers take the wheelchairs and put them in a hallway, then return them to the owner/resident when they finish eating. Why should residents have to do this? Higher grade filters should be enstalled. A new filter is filthy within two weeks. Walkways from the buildings to the parking lot should be completely covered. The dumpster behind building A needs to be cleaned! In hot weather ths stench is unbearable. Even in cooler weather it still stinks. The staff is fabulous! They are courteous, personable, and extremely hard working.
