I Visited This Facility

I liked Cottonwood Estates real well. It's smaller than a lot of facilities that I looked at, which I liked because I have arthritis. I have breathing problems and I have trouble walking. The price was a little lower than a lot of them too. I toured the whole facility. They offered two or three meals a day and either one of those is acceptable for me.

We visited Cottonwood Estates and they offered three meals a day, four days per week scheduled transportation, eight laundry facilities on the property, but nothing in the rooms. No parking, no extra or additional fees for sewerage, and they have beauty fees for the salon. They had an elevator and religious services were available upstair. They have individual climate controls, regulators for the appliances, and kitchenettes rather than kitchens. They only had one big room available, but they did come up with a 2-bedroom that was available.

Cottonwood Estates was terrible. It was very small and was not really friendly to me. They didn't have an exercise room and there were very few activities. The rooms were not really independent living. The staff was OK, though. I also wasn't impressed with the dining room.

I liked Cottonwood very much, but my son feels that it's too far for him to drive to come to see me. The food was good, and they treated me very well. I saw a one-bedroom, and I have to bring the furniture.

I Visited This Community

Cottonwood estate is a nice independent living community. This community is neat with nice landscaping. The building is clean well maintained but the building and apartments could benefit from some upgrades. The apartments are small but can fit basic furniture. The dinning room is open and nicely light. The menu is not very accommodating but the food is good. The activities are average and could improve on variation. The staff is supportive and professional. This community is a better fit for active seniors but home health agencies are available for additional support.
