I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

I would absolutely warn people about going to Brookdale Grand Prairie because they have bedbugs. My mother was a resident for four years. The people there were lovely but poorly informed. When I found the bedbugs, she had broken out, and I thought she had shingles. I took her to the nurse. The nurse didn't know what it was, and then I found bugs crawling on her. I've fought with the facility for eight months getting it exterminated, and they wanted me to just get rid of and burn everything she owned including her clothing and her over 100-year-old furniture. I'm still considering seeing an attorney. You can only do so much with a building when the people who are running it are not well informed. There are some very dear people who live in that building and count on those people taking care of them and they're not being well taken care of. The building itself was very nice.

Horizon Bay is owned by a stable corporation. Very appealing exterior and interior. The activity calendar has plenty to choose from to entice any of the residents. If you did not know, you would not believe that it is a senior living facility. All staff members have been very accommodating and friendly during my visits. They seem to be proactive in getting the residents the healthcare they might need. The price is above average for the area, but a great location. I recommend taking a tour if this property appears to fit your needs.

The staff is really nice and helpful. Residents are always excited about participating with daily activities. And they look forward to weekly outings. The food is great and served fresh. Everyone seems to enjoy the resturant style dining.
