I Visited This Facility

I went to Eagle Crest and I liked the atmosphere and the location. There's no nursing home there. She showed us a calendar of the activities and it seemed like there was something going on all the time. They have a library and they have classes on things. There are a lot of activities. They serve three meals a day. The staff was good. They showed me some apartments and for what I could afford, it was too small. It was too expensive for me.

Eagle Crest was very nice and the staff was also very nice. It was just right by the heart of the city and was close to all the things we're looking for, like stores, doctors, and a hospital. I thought the pricing was very good. The grounds and apartments were also very nice and spacious. We talked to one of the residents there who said that the food could be improved.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

The staff at Eagle Crest is doing a good job with my parents. They're very accommodating and care about their residents. There's a pool table and some exercise machines. The dining area is very nice, neat, clean, and comfortable. The food is OK. Their price is right in the same range as everybody else.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Eagle Crest has just announced that managers will no longer be living on the premises of this facility. As a substitute, residents will be given a special phone to call if there is an emergency at night. Eagle Crest is an "independent living" facility, but it accepts many residents that are compromised. Residents were told when they signed their contracts that 2 managers would maintain apartments in the facility so that someone would always be available, if necessary, 24 / 7. They are pulling a serious bait and switch on many residents and families with this decision. Having a building full of elderly people, some with mild to moderate dementia, many with limited mobility, compromised eye sight, etc., and leaving them alone from 7:30 PM until the next morning is unbelievably irresponsible. This change will cause much fear and anxiety within the community. Even though I wasn't thrilled with the management of this place before this horrible new development, I am surprised by this extreme action. While there are some staff members that are attentive and try to do the right thing, something is very wrong with the management of this place. Perhaps it's coming from corporate, I don't know. Communication stinks. People don't get back to you on important matters. The facility is nice, the senior helper program is good and, as I mentioned, there are some decent people who work there, but overall, especially with this recent decision to do away with managers living on the premises, we are very disappointed.
