I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother-in-law has been residing at Twin Cedars. Our experience has been fine. The environment is caring and friendly. They have a full kitchen. They're doing some renovating right now. They're putting in new flooring, carpeting, and new furniture. I've only been there a couple of times. The staff is very accommodating. They have her ready to go when we get there, and welcome her when she gets back. We just took her out for lunch. They have a new family room with a kitchen, they have big birdcages with birds, and they have a living area where there's a big TV.

I Visited This Facility

Twin Cedars was clean and had a nice warm feeling to it. The rooms were small but adequate. They had an activities calendar and a person leading some activities while we were there. We saw the residents stretching and singing holiday songs.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My great grandmother is in Twin Cedar’s Senior Living, which is an absolutely amazing place. We go there three to four times a week, and I love it. The workers there are very gentle and treat her very well. My great grandma has been there for about four months now, and we haven’t had any problems. They watch over maybe 35 residents and take really good care of them and the place. It is always clean. Usually, most nursing homes smell really bad, but this place does not smell. The lady who owns the place actually lives next door to it, and she is awesome. Her name is Tamara. She is a great woman who loves all of the residents. They do activities, have church, and do lunches. They have animals that come and visit and plant flowers. It is beautiful. The common dining room is set-up with four to five people to each round table. Most of the rooms fit two people, but there are private rooms, too. That’s extra money, but all the rooms are gorgeous. When I go there to visit my great grandma, sometimes I take a nap. It’s that comfortable and nice.

Description of Twin Cedars Senior Living

Since 1990, families living in Shohola, Pennsylvania have turned to our community when their loved one requires supportive services to remain independent. Twin Cedar's Senior Living is a homelike community that delivers personalized care and supervision, respite care and adult day care services. Everyone on our staff is committed to delivering compassionate care that allows our residents to thrive and continue living a full, purposeful life.

Twin Cedar's Senior Living is an independently owned and operated senior living community. Our community was started by Linda and Bruce Harding on land that was originally farmed by Linda's parents. We pride ourselves on being a country home, not an institution.

Featured Amenities

When joining our community, new residents may select from fully furnished semiprivate or private apartment suites. Each apartment has a full bathroom and an emergency call response system. Included in the monthly fee are all utilities and telephone, but long distance telephone services, Internet and cable TV are available for an additional fee.

Every day at Twin Cedar's Senior Living we offer a variety of life enrichment activities such as art classes, spiritual activities and children visits. For outings, we have taken our residents to the GAIT Therapeautic Riding Center and lunch outings. We even have therapy animals visit, including donkeys!

Available Services

Our residents enjoy three, freshly prepared meals served family-style every day, and healthy snacks are provided between meals. Every night is the always popular ice cream social which residents and their families look forward to. We also provide scheduled transportation for errands and medical appointments. Because we handle weekly housekeeping and personal laundry service, your loved one is freed from daily chores so he/she can have more time having fun.

For each resident we craft an individualized support plan that details the level of care we will provide, whether it's assistance with activities of daily living or medication. Our staff is on site 24 hours a day to lend a hand whenever it's needed. We also offer overnight guest accommodations and can arrange for physical, occupation and speech therapies.

Our setting that features the beauty of the Pocono countryside, coupled with personalized 24-hour care, are just a few reasons why seniors are proud to call Twin Cedar's Senior Living Community their home.
