I Visited This Facility

I liked Brookdale Northampton. It's clean, the people were wonderful, and they had a lot of activities. The food looked delicious. It's a smaller community than where my brother is, but it's lovely. It's an assisted living home.

I Visited This Facility

I went to Brookdale Northampton. I was really very impressed with the director. They had a small dementia unit of about 23 patients, and I felt pretty confident. However, when I was looking to move my mother, they didn't have any beds available. I was definitely impressed, but I felt like my mother needed something with a little more atmosphere. It felt more like a hospital with two beds to a room. I was impressed with the director's knowledge and the way she was explaining things. I felt confident with her. It's assisted living memory care.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother is a resident. It seems to me that the activity level in the building is minimal. Activities outside of the building or off the property are all but non-existent. I am looking for other accommodation that will keep mom physically active. I feel that the current situation is not to create any extra work for themselves.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My relative is in Brookdale Northampton. So far, it's been a very thorough reception, orientation, and admission. They were very thorough with the paperwork, and the explanation of the whole process and services was very clear. He's settled in and doing quite well. Dot, who runs the place, stood out to me. She's just on the ball, had good rapport, and really knows her work and job. I think the staff is committed and dedicated, and I felt good leaving him there. It's better than I expected.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

Not enough help to do what is promised as far as staff for the people that need help eating, toileting, dressing, meds. etc. Not enough help on staff at one time to help do things needed by the residents living in Brookdale at this time. No social activity that keeps the people busy and not getting bored.
