I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
My mother was at Lake Shore Commons. It was OK, but they only had one elevator for 160 elderly people with their walkers and wheelchairs trying to get on one little elevator all at the same time. It gets pretty backed up. The people there were very nice, very accommodating, and very kind, but if you need any level of care above independent, it is not the place for you. Even though they say that you can get assistance in your apartment, it's not as easy as it sounds. It's also very expensive. They promote themselves as being a less expensive option, but in reality, they are not because you pay your rent and then you have to pay for assistance on top of it; it ends up being more money than being in an assisted living facility. They had a full calendar every day of different activities, like outings, bingo, cards, music, and a beauty shop.

I Visited This Facility
Lake Shore Commons is a wonderful and great facility. The apartments are wonderful, the staff is excellent, and the dining room was excellent, like a 5-star restaurant. They have a different menu every day, and the residents get to pick from three different main course choices. It was our first choice. They have an excellent program for the residents. They have a coffee bar and a snack bar open 24 hours. It was a very positive experience.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident
My mother is a resident of Lake Shore Commons. They are fantastic. The community is ideal and incredibly positive, very supportive, and incredibly hospitable. There's a lot of people that genuinely seem to care. Almost everyone's been there for ten years plus and it shows because they enjoy their work. It's a great community, good people, great food, great environment. The apartments are fantastic. Everything about it is pretty ideal. They have tons of activities. There's a calendar of activities everywhere. The activities director makes announcements all the time and they do a good job of herding people into doing things. The food is fantastic, it's clean, and it's professional. The dining room is aesthetically pleasing. It's efficient and effective in the way that it's laid out. I didn't participate in any activities, but I'm enjoying the list and people seemed to flock to them. I just have a lot of gratitude for them. I couldn't have found a better fit for my mom.
