I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

We're satisfied with Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem. They have a lot of things for the residents. We've eaten there a few times and the food is very good. They don't have a swimming pool, but they have physical therapy. The staff members there are definitely helpful, and the place itself is very clean.

Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem is actually very good and my mother took to it very well. They have arts and crafts, and gardening. They also go out on trips which my mom enjoys very much. They serve three meals and snacks.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

We chose Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem because they were one of the only two in the community that would take my mother with a wound that she had on her leg. She also has a colostomy. In the beginning, she was the only person that had a colostomy and no one knew how to fix it or how to clean it. They did not know how to change it, and it took numerous times for them to figure out. They also called me on the telephone to ask me what to do because no one had the knowledge to do it on their own. They gave her regular care and kept her clean. She fell out of the bed a few times, but that was not their fault. She is blind, and they could have given her more verbal information, like that her food was waiting for her on her tray. She did not know because no one told her. They just brought it in and left. It had to be addressed several times that my mother had to have extra help in that area.

I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

Brighton Gardens of Winston-Salem didn't have exercise equipment and I didn’t like the condition of my room. Some of the staff was really nice. They took us every Monday to Wal-Mart and always took us to medical appointments. Once in a while, they'd take us on trips. They provide the linen and bed clothes. They also provide electricity and meals.

I Visited This Community

The staff at Brighton Gardens seemed good, but it seemed like a cluttered and a tight space with no outdoor space, and one of the main things we were looking for was outdoor space. It had a very small dining room for the memory care patients. There were small, individual rooms placed very close together.

Brighton Gardens was great and felt like a home. I would have chosen them, but the fee was too high. It provided what I need but not what I needed for my husband. If I had the money, that’s where I would go.
