I Am A Current/Past Resident

One of the most precious commodities we have is our parents and grand parents. At least that's how my family feels. Unfortunately that isn't the mind thought of the folks at Villages of St Peters. I will not throw everyone under the bus though. We did come across quite a few of very nice people. The issues this facility has is lack of communication along with some instances of lack of concern or compassion for a human. My mother was there for exactly one week. My sisters and I had to pull shifts to make sure she would be given her meds and such. To which we were never really sure she was getting the right meds. Mom progressively got weaker and weaker, and yet they would drag her out of her bed and take her to therapy to try and walk stairs. They would talk down to her and tell her she had to get herself to the bathroom. That was the response when she would ring the "ASSIT" button. The food was always served to her cold and was not appetizing at all. Therefore mom wasn't eating. The cleanliness of moms restroom was unacceptable. A soiled piece of toilet paper (not from my mother) lay on the bathroom floor for the entire weekend. I finally picked it up and disposed of it. You would think that when there a two strangers sharing a bathroom, there would be more attention to keeping sanitary bathrooms. I could go on and on. Long story short, I went there to visit mom and saw a far away scared look in her weak eyes, grabbed the phone and dialed 911. She's out of there and NEVER going back. In the hospital with pneumonia and dehydration. If you have a loved one whom you respect and love.... DO NOT SEND THEM TO FACILITY FOR REHAB OR NURSING HOME CARE.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother had a wonderful stay at The Villages Of St. Peters. When she arrived she was greeted by friendly staff, and they made her feel very comfortable in a scary time. They took the time to explain the entire rehab process and made her feel welcome. The therapy department was AMAZING!!!! I had my doubts that she would be able to be able to make it back home on her own, she was brought in by an ambulance, and she walked out on her own accord. She had plenty of things to keep her busy, and she loved the food. I even ate with her a few times and the food was great. The nursing staff was helpful, and got to get pretty quickly despite the fact that they were full my moms entire stay. My family liked visiting also, it didn’t have that depressed "nursing home feel" If you or your family need a good place for rehab, go to the Villages! I hope we never need them again, but if we do, we will go back!

Feb. 2014 My 91 yr old mom went there after a heart attack to "get her strength back". Whenever we went to the nurses station, we were totally ignored - no one would even look up at us. After Mom got a "new roommate" Mom came down with a terrible case of diarrhea. Roommate obviously should have had a private room. One night mom looked like she was going into a coma I became alarmed and when I went to get her nurse, I was told she was at lunch??? Finally after practically begging someone came to check her out - they said her vitals were fine - duh. then checked her blood sugar as an afterthought. her blood sugar had dropped to 55,. Sure wish they had been checking it like the chart indicated. Thank God I was there. Forget help going to the toilet. We stayed at least 12 hours a day with mom so we could help her get to the bathroom, but no matter how weak you are, you will get a shower - with wet towels laying in the shower for hours after. Don't want to write a book so I will not even discuss useless "therapy". The so called social worker there is the worst. We wanted to take Mom home, she basically told us that if we took her home before they said she was ready that the insurance MAY NOT pay their portion. We were held hostage until mom's coverage ran out. Mom was in worse shape when we got her home than before she went there. I wanted to leave my personal contact information but was informed i am not allowed to do so on this site.

My father was in hospice at the Village -- I cannot say enough good things about the service and level of care we received. He was there about a week and every staff member we came in contact with exceeded our expectations. MD

My elderly grandfather was sent to the villages of St.Peters to get therapy. They neglect their patients, lie about giving treatment and majority of the staff generally do not care about the well being of the senior citizens in their care. My grandfather left there with 374 sugar levels, dehydrated, sick and 6 bed sores. He was only there 11 days. We actually caught one of the neglectful nurses lying. She multiple times documented that she gave breathing treatments to my grandfather, when we were in room with him all day and they never happened. We only can assume that he wasn't getting medication or properly cleaned. Please do not send anyone who needs alot of attention or care to this place. I wouldn't trust them to do the right thing.
