I Visited This Facility

I've been to Solstice Senior Living at Columbia (formerly Boone Landing) several times. I've eaten there and gone to garage sales. Their rooms were small compared to other places. I wasn't too impressed with them. Their food was horrible. I ate there for Thanksgiving and was not impressed at all. It was edible, and that was just about it. I had some folks that live next door to me and lived at Boone Landing for about six months and that's all they could take. They moved back next door. It felt like a nursing home when I went into it. When it first opened up, it was not that way. I've been in Columbia for 40 some years and when it was first built, I thought it was is where rich people were going to go live. It was nice and looked like royalty live there, but it has really gone downhill in the last four or five years. When I was invited two years ago for Thanksgiving dinner and to view the rooms for the first time, I was not really too impressed. They were pretty high priced for what you got: a bedroom and a really small living room. At that time, you could not have pets. There were a lot of things you could not do, like cook in your room. The staff was not very cordial. I didn't find it acceptable on almost any level. No matter how much they lower their price, I still wouldn't go there, and I thought it was kind of dirty.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My relative has been staying at Boone Landing for four years. It's been very good. They have a very nice dining room, and the rooms are comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It's a very caring group, and I haven't really had any problems there at all. They have a lot of nice programs for them, like exercise every day, visiting entertainment and sing-alongs, and some craft or painting class every week. We've been really pleased with them.

I Visited This Facility

I liked Boone Landing a lot. It was very modern, and the rooms were very spacious. They provided all of the meals, but they had to eat at a certain time so that they could keep track of people. I only met the one person who showed me around, and she was very nice. The residents were coloring Easter eggs while I was there. I thought the price was reasonable.
