I was living in an Edina condo that was getting older and needing repairs. Assessments were charged to us above our regular fees. My friend was living at Valley View Cooperative, a newer building, and when I came for a visit, she suggested I take a look at a unit they had for sale. It was light and bright regardless of facing north, lots of cupboards in the kitchen, and lots of closet space. It was the perfect choice for me. You are never alone in a cooperative, unlike living alone in a house. Our financial condition is superb, with excellent experienced people managing our committees. We have monthly dinners, games of all kinds, exercise class, van service, volunteer opportunities, and much more. There is no grass to cut and no snow to plow. Come join our friendly community.

Lovely, interesting and tasteful decor. Friendly hardworking and helpful staff. Relaxing outdoor gardens with free wildlife and super homegrown veggies and flowers. Homegrown board of directors who are diligent in keeping everything shipshape. The living is designed for 55 and older folk who desire to live and move about as they wish. Easy shopping access, very active public library not far away, plus heavily utilized library in the coop, idea creating committees who put together good events for the coop, families of members are welcomed, come see for youself, the best senior coop ever.

Horses, disks. aces, bowling lanes, ladders and cubes are all parts of some games we play. We are sitting next to a lake, ideal wetlands nearby, abundance of trees and gardens glowing. Sharing the natural beauty outside with various wildlife is a treat we all enjoy. Walking around the lake helps keep us strong and able. It's easy to get to shopping for most anything. Airport easy to drive to. Of course, we in the Twin City area have the MOA, (Mall of America). Sharing is common among our residents, food, a ride to an appointment or the airport, a bowl of soup, a visit to a sick member and even our life stories in a memoir writing class. We are known to be the friendliest cooperative. Wonderful it is to be loved and welcomed.

I feel living at Valley View Cooperative has been an excellent move for me as when I moved to this area in 2001, I only knew about 2 families besides my children. Living in this coop, I have met so many kind, friendly people. I feel safe here and is nice to know I can go away and my home will be safe. All the staff is very knowledgeable and friendly too. It is a very well kept building.

A superbly well-managed and well-governed cooperative. Various floor-plans offer options for every type of resident at extremely reasonable purchase rates and fees. There are a wide range of activities that provide opportunities to interact with other residents and pursue one's interests. Being near the Eden Prairie Mall offers easy-access shopping and entertainment. A coop offers the best advantages of home ownership and renting. I could not be happier to have moved in 4 years ago.

We have lived here for 13years and have never been sorry we live here instead of a private house. Most of the people are friendly and like to participate in the many activities that are available. There are activity choices every day of the week. However, we can pick and choose and if we want to stay quietly in our condo, we won't be bothered by noise or interruptions. The staff is more than competent and very friendly and helpful. We have no snow to shovel, lawn to mow or repairs on the building or grounds. Being a cooperative, we vote for our Board of Directors and can voice our opinions and comments to them directly. Only once in 13 years have the monthly fees been raised and that was a small increase. We are close to shopping and all stores and restaurants. We would recommend Valley View Cooperative to anyone who is looking for a " retirement home on the lake"!

We have good excersize equipment, wood shop, flower gardens and vegetable garden. We have variety of games to choose from. Residents are very pleasant

We moved into Valley View Coop 6 years ago, and are even happier than we expected to be. Talk about care free living - fulltime maintenance man, helpful Resident Services Manager. We can sit on our deck and watch others deal with the lawn and gardens. And we discovered that we moved into an active neighborhood. We know many more of our neighbors here than we ever did in a single family home. We have a beautiful dining room that we can use free for entertaining larger groups of friends, tho I have handled as many as 16 in our apartment. We are close to a mall, the bank and Costco and freeway access. Incidentally, our equity has increased significantly in spite of the economic hard times. This is definitely affordable independent living. Eden Prairie was ranked the #1 city of over 100,000 2 years ago, and it continues to be a great place to live.

Our staff is superb - Tom handles all the maintenance issues for the building; Terese handles all the housekeeping issues so our place looks immaculate; and Patty, our Resident Service Manager is #1 - she makes everyone feel at home and special. We have very high resident satisfaction - even two residents moved out and moved back in as our community was so much better then where they went. Our members are fun, knowledgeable, caring and eager to make everyone feel at home. Our location is perfect - near lake with walking trails, near freeways, and close to shopping mall, grocery stores, library, doctors, etc.
