Turnover among the staff is high. Staff are low paid and don't have the support they need to run this home as well as it should be. The house is beautiful and is very home like.

Facility has a 1:3 ratio of staff to clients. Residents with Parkinson's disease will enjoy the thoroughly trained staff, who are not only accommodating to resident's needs but patient and understanding of the disorder. Program offers a training course for each staff member. Very structured, yet homelike environment with relaxing atmosphere. Residents relax in the porch or common areas daily. Daily meals planned by a registered dietician. 3 levels of care available for all residents from minor assistance to complete and total care.

The Birchwood House is supervised by a registered nurse, who carefully monitors and assesses our residents for any change in condition in addition to managing medication regimens.
Each care plan is personalized and designed to accommodate individual preferences and routines. A registered nurse is on call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, 365 days per year. Client to caregiver ratio at capacity is 8:2.
