This retirement community is on Chicago's northside, not very far from interesting city neighborhoods, such as Andersonville. This is an older building which to my mind has a lot of character. There is a lovely water fountain in the lobby and a friendly smallish diner on the first floor in addition to the main dining room and a library. The library is very pleasant and is current with newspapers. This facility has independent living apartments with kitchen, living room and bedroom. The apartments are a little old fashioned. There are also a number of services, such as full-time security and transportation. The retirement community has numerous cultural and religious activities. In addition to the independent living there is an assisted living center. One drawback is the small elevator that takes a long time to come and get you to your apartment.
