I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mom was at Belmont Village Oak Park, but she required additional care than what they had there. She needed a secure floor, but I wasn't comfortable with it because it didn't seem like it was very nicely decorated and seemed a little overcrowded. It didn't meet my standards. It seemed like there was a high amount of staff turnover in the management team. The elevators and fan weren't working and were broken down for an extended period of time. There were movies, history lessons, and outings. A lot of times though they didn’t have enough tickets available if they went to a show, so Mom couldn't go. The food was good, and they had a large selection to choose from. They had buffets during holidays that were kind of pricey but pretty good. The staff was good and very caring to my mom. The first floor and main hallway were nice, but I was not satisfied with how the secure floor looked.

I Visited This Community

This is a rather newish facility and it is bright and cheery inside. Immediately as you enter there is a front desk with someone to greet you. One can see the dining room from the entrance. The food is excellent here and the wait staff are attentive. The location is excellent near a Walgreens as well as numerous restaurants in the area. There is a very active senior community who like to talk politics. Residents often go on various trips to see plays or go to the museum. Staff is helpful. Very clean facility.
