Regency House was OK. The staff was cordial, but the rooms were too small. The atmosphere and the dining area were fine. I would recommend this facility.

Regency House is unique in private eldercare housing. It is congregate living for the older person who is highly functional in self-care but wants to live in a community.

The staff has a more limited job than most; they basically do "administrative" chores rather than assuming caregiving responsibilities. They aren't specifically trained in work with aging and the diseases of aging. Because of that, the selection of folks for residency is critical, because those in need of a specialized care plan will not be receiving the care they need.

Having identified this limitation, Regency is a perfect place for the "right person". It is central to medical and shopping facilities, it provides safe and pleasant housing opportunities, and it provides a community of like-minded folks. It is maintained well, the food is good, it is independent living without being totally alone. What more could you want?
