I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Heritage of Sandy Plains has very caring and pleasant personnel and excellent food. The staff seems to be happy working there. They have two dining areas and they have two choices of meals. If the residents don't want those two choices, they have alternatives like sandwiches. I ate there for about three weeks with my husband when he first got there, and I never ate the same food twice. They also have soup at lunch and dinner before their meals every day.

I Visited This Facility

Heritage of Sandy Plains had very small rooms, especially for two people. They had a nice dining room and activities, plus social events for the residents, some games, impromptu performances, and a little movie theater. It was an OK place that looked nice. The staff was very nice, helpful, and caring. They had good food.

Heritage of Sandy Plains was good. When the time comes, we'd certainly consider going there. The main lady was 100% very good. It was around lunchtime when we were there and the lunch was very good. The staff was excellent, very friendly, and efficient. They had lots of activities, transportation, a garden, a little library, and a movie room. The food was not institutional. It was good.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

I can think of only positive things to say about Heritage on Sandy Plains. What is not to like! From the moment you walk through the door you feel welcome. My Mom has been at more expensive and so called "fancier' places but you never felt the love you do here. Since the executive director, Steven, came almost a year ago the aesthetics and care have improved greatly. There is independent and assisted living plus a Legacy wing for memory care. There are tons of activities arranged by a veteran social planner. If you like crafts, games such as bingo, chair exercises, in house movies or a trip into the community to eat, shop or see points of interest you will be delighted. Friday is happy hour with entertainment, food and beverage. There is always something going on. The chef makes three meals a day and all of them are from scratch-only fresh foods not processed; his food is amazing! He is in the dining room to serve and check on things and all help will pitch in as needed to serve meals. Everyone is hands on working as a team in all they do. You feel comfortable with a nurse on staff and friendly med techs. They even have a wonderful beauty shop on site. In my opinions they bend over backwards to please and treat you like family. My Mom is 94 and on the first day there people from a nearby church came in for a sing along and gave out poinsettias. The lady who assists my Mom called her a "princess" as she was helping her get ready for bed. That tickled me. Since then the same woman has informed me of any concerns with Mom's health--swollen ankles, a sore or a bruise, etc. This communication helps so I can check it out and do what is needed to help her. I am just so happy we found this place and have encouraged others to come and they did and are equally pleased. Cheryl Coe, Marietta. GA

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Heritage of Sandy Plains is a wonderful facility between Woodstock and Marietta. The clean and decorative appearance is just the beginning of what a nice place this is for seniors. My dad has been there about a year. The administrative staff is friendly, helpful and very personable with the residents and their families. Steven understands the struggles of the elderly and their care and is very compassionate and tries to help in every way he can. The caregivers, several of which have been there many years, are some of the kindest caring people I've ever met. Phyllis is an angel! I think when they hire someone new they must require a cheerful and friendly disposition. The residents there are genuinely cared for by these people and I appreciate it so much. The food is outstanding and the kitchen staff are also very friendly and helpful. The maintenance director is an absolute saint. He is always willing to help and goes above and beyond his duties. There is a new activities director and she is really sweet and is planning big things. This is an awesome place!!
