Village Place was pretty nice, but it wasn't what I was looking for. They were engaging all the residents The rooms and layout were very nice. I looked at their cafeteria while they were eating.

My husband seems to be very happy at Village Place Retirement. The facilities are very well taken care of and clean. The food is nice. The staff is fantastic. My husband may not know what's going on, but I do, and I'm impressed with this community. His room is nice and clean. It's expensive, but you get pay what you're paying for.

Village Place was clean and friendly, but my patient didn't like the makeup of the room. It was just a personal preference. They gave us lunch and the food was good.

Village Place Retirement was very nice. I really liked it because it was divided up, so you had smaller groups. The dining halls were by communities, so it had a smaller residential feeling instead of a big hotel feeling. The people were all nice, and the residents all seemed friendly and happy. The dining area was small with a couple of tables in it, only for the people in your neighborhood, which was a good thing.

Village Place is a small assisted living home. It is not very medical-like -- which a lot of them are -- and that is what's very nice about the place. The residents are very friendly, and they have a lot of activities. They have doctors and nurses that come into the community, which has been great. They take them on Wednesday to the bank and to Wal-Mart. A group of them go out for lunch every Friday. My mom really enjoys that, and it has gone well. However, my mom said the food was wonderful when she arrived, but it has gone downhill.

We really liked Village Place. They don’t have one main dining room. They have what they call neighborhoods of small sections with maybe 12 total. We liked that concept. They had a nice little living area with a sofa and television, you can make puzzles, and there’s books. Next to that would be the dining area. It's now just waitlisting. They don't have availability.

Everything felt positive at Village Place Retirement. The rooms looked average, and the dining room looked more like a restaurant. Their activities were above average.

The friendliness and concern of the staff is what I like best at Village Place Retirement. My mother seems happy with the food, and it’s very clean.

Village Place Retirement has a memory care unit that is designed to better interact with the dementia patients. They are encouraged to get out and not stay in their room. I like the fact that it is a rather smaller facility, not large. Again, the atmosphere is very homey. They have a lovely front porch. When I pulled up, everyone was sitting out on the front porch. I like the director who took me around. She was very experienced and knowledgeable. The room was more than adequate in size. When you’re dealing with memory care patients, they’re actually trying to encourage them not to stay in their room, so one of my considerations was giving my mom a shared room.

Village Place Retirement was a good, decent place. They showed me the different sizes of the rooms and gave me examples of what they do there. The dining area was average.
