Royal Palm was a nice place, and the people were nice and friendly. My sister just felt more comfortable with the other community. I thought the rooms were kind of small, and I wasn't impressed with the elevators. They have activities like chair exercises, arts and crafts, cards, Bingo, and so on.

Royal Palm was very nice but had an institutional feel to it, probably because it's multi-story. We didn't have much interaction with the residents when we toured, nor saw how the staff interacted with everybody. It looked very nice and would have been a good choice, but our current community is better.

Royal Palm Retirement Centre is very good and the desk girl was fine. The rooms are very small, like a cruise cabin. The 1-bedroom apartments were okay, but the beds were a little close to the wall and didn't allow much space to get in and out.

There are numerous activities at Royal Palm Retirement Centre. The place itself is very clean, very organized, and exceptionally updated. The entrance is very friendly and very open, and there are plenty of chairs. You're greeted as soon as you walk in the door; it is very nice. They have a separate family area if you want to go and have a birthday, but I did not taste the food. The menu has plenty of options and different things every day. I'm very impressed with them.

Royal Palm looked fine. The place was clean and there were a lot of people around. I saw the dining room and the couple of the rooms, and they reminded me of hotel rooms. The person that assisted me is very nice and helpful, she did a great job. I visited on a Saturday and I didn't see any activities in the community that day. The people were really nice.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

We moved my mom to Royal Palm two weeks ago. I’m like five minutes away from her. I know she had an incident two days ago. She was down having breakfast and one of the workers came over and said we’re going to strip her bed. Of course, my mother, being the way she is, got all upset and burst into tears. They were looking for bed bugs. It wasn’t a pleasant experience for my mother to go through because she had to go up to her room and find her bed all stripped and linens just thrown in the corner. I know Mom is fine because her mattress is not even a month old. All her linens are brand new, and her mattress and everything are brand new. I’ve known the executive director for a long time. I met with her to get my mom in, and she seems very dedicated and caring. She really does. So I have to say I’m pleased with that. Whereas at other facilities, I’ve never met the executive directors.

We looked at Royal Palm. They had a assisted living and memory care ward. The community was good, but my dad really didn’t like it there as much. The rooms were OK, a little small, and a little outdated, but they were well kept. The community was a little old. Dining area was OK, but my dad didn’t really like the food there.

Royal Palm has a lot of people and seemed confusing for me. I didn't care for the size of it. I would prefer a smaller place. Royal Palm is big. Each floor has its ownnice dining room.
