I Visited This Facility

I found Brookdale Pinecrest to be very elegantly decorated, like a 5-star hotel. The people and the residents were nice. It was very clean. We had lunch there and the food was excellent. It seems like a really great place. It just wasn't a financial fit for my mother. Jennifer gave us a really thorough tour. She invited us to have lunch there so we could check out the dining room and the food. She followed up with us and she gave me all the information that I needed. The activities seemed great. There were a ton of them. The amenities were great. My mom looked at a 1-bedroom apartment which would've sufficed. The apartment had a living room area, bedroom, a galley type kitchenette, and a handicapped bathroom. It had a nice, screened-in deck outside. The activities were really nice. I was even allowed to come in and join her in some of those activities. If I wanted to join once a month in her water aerobics, I could do that. If I wanted to come and play Bingo with her or do a game or see a show with her, I could do that. They accept pets. You can bring them down into the community room and anywhere you want.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

We chose Brookdale Pinecrest because of the atmosphere; it's like you're in a luxury hotel. They have lots of activities and transportation to and from doctors' offices, grocery stores, and day outings. They have a community dining room where the residents get two meals a day. Everything has a sense of community and socialization. The staff is very nice, kind, and helpful. My mom hasn't had any complaints about anybody. They serve three meals a day, and Mom likes their selection. The food is good, but every once in a while they have a miss. The place is very clean and tidy, and the maintenance for the exterior is good. Even after the hurricane, they picked up all the branches and everything was pristine again within a day. They also have health seminars, including ones about bladder control and arthritis. They have their own company that provides in-home care or you can choose to get in-home care from an outside company. They also have a visiting nurses agency right there.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mom has been in Brookdale for six weeks now. It's very nice, very clean, the staff is very cordial, and they have a lot of activities. Her apartment is extremely nice, and they immediately take care of everything they need taking care of. They have a nice selection at meals, she gets three meals a day, and the food is good. Her doctor goes there once a week. They have games, dances, Bingo, and field trips. They have stuff going on every day.

One thing I liked about Brookdale Pinecrest is that they have a swimming pool that is very close to the living quarters. I really thought that was nice. The rooms were very nice, and they just renovated the entire building. I have some friends who live there who like it. They have a suite, one-bedroom, or two-bedroom units. If you want the one-bedroom, the living room is very large and the bedroom is medium sized. Some of the units have washers and dryers in them. The staff all seemed very friendly. The food is good. My friend is 90 years old, and we will be celebrating her birthday there at the bistro, a separate restaurant where you can go in and order what you like. They don't have nice grounds just to sit or walk around, but they have a golf course.
