I Visited This Facility

We loved Liberty Heights, but they weren't going to have any vacancies for about ten months or possibly longer. The memory care rooms were big and nice, more like an apartment with just a bedroom and a bathroom. We were shown around by one person and a few people that we passed by said hi. We didn't really get to know any other staff members. The one that showed us around was great, and he was good about following up after.

I Visited This Facility

Liberty Heights has a beautiful view. They showed me a swimming pool, which is impressive. The rooms are like regular apartments with a living room, a kitchen, a bedroom, a bathroom, and there's a garage across the hall. They also provide transportation. They have a lounge, a card room, a sewing room, and an art room. They pretty much have a whole array of amenities.

When high winds came through and killed the power at Liberty Heights people were stuck on the elevator because there is NO backup generator. The kitchen was closed for dinner with no alternative plan to feed the residents. The corporation that owns Liberty Heights has been consistently resistant to doing anything but generating as much money for themselves as they possibly can. Time and again they do not listen to or seem to care about the residents. I'm not talking about the people that actually work there, they are wonderful. But their hands are tied by the corporation that owns this place!

It is disappointing to see, once again, that service requests for broken or non-functioning things in the Liberty Heights apartments are ignored for weeks on end. There is no one available to fix a broken toilet that will accomodate a walker over a weekend? Why are these folks paying premium prices to live there and receiving sub-standard service for these kinds of requests?? On February 9 a request was made to replace a washing machine that fills halfway up, agitates for less than a minute, drains and fills halfway up again to rinse and spins for a minute and clothes come out dripping wet and then take several hours to dry because they are so wet. Several requests were made (in writing) and finally, a request was made ("Please!") for a response, the maintenence person said this was the first he'd heard of it. I just don't understand why it takes so long for any action to be taken for even the simplest things. I understand that Liberty Heights is under relatively new ownership that seems not to care that much about the residents. The staff, on the other hand, do seem to care and it can only be surmised that they are limited as to what they are able to do. I'm afraid that I would not recommend Liberty Heights to anyone who is looking for a caring, responsive environment for their independent living parents.

My grandfather spent the last days of his life in this facility, and I am grateful that the staff was so wonderful, so caring and understanding. During his time there we were made to feel like family. After he passed, they even sent this beautiful bouquet to us. I honestly feel like it was a miracle that he was in that place. I am so thankful to Liberty Heights.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

When we learned that my husband had Parkinsons we began a search for an independent living situation. Our search ended once we looked at Liberty Heights. We have been here for three months and love our two bedroom apartment with our own laundry facilities and a full kitchen. We have everything here that we had in our former home except the stairs, the yard to care for, the upkeep and the utility payments. We like the flexibility that the meal plan offers. Eating in the dining room is like dining in an upscale restaurant with the Liberty to choose whether we want our main meal at noon or in the evening. The dining room is a great place to meet and eat with new friends. There are lots of activities to get involved in but also the Liberty not to. I have always dreamed of having a swimming pool in my back yard and now I have one just down stairs. At times I feel like I'm on a cruise, but with a view of the mountains rather than the sea, We feel very much at home here and at Liberty to choose whatever lifestyle we like. We also feel secure in knowing there is help right here in the building should we need it. We have not experienced any regrets in making the decision to choose Liberty.

My mother just passed away August 11 at Liberty Heights Asst. Living. Mom went on hospice care July 7 and Pikes Peak Hospice along with the staff at Liberty were wonderful. Very kind and compassionate. They have been great for my father and our whole family during this difficult time. From the CNA's to the kitchen staff, front desk, cleaning staff, and activities staff, they have treated us so tenderly. The fellow residents have been wonderful as well. My parents had just moved in June 1 so Mom was not there for long, but the staff was patient with her ( had Alzheimer's/Dementia and could be difficult). Thank you all of the staff in Asst. Living At Liberty Heights.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

Attractive building, unique layout, marvelous views from every unit. Each unit has laundry facilities, fireplace, full kitchen, townhomes have garages, large walk-in closets. A good place to live with lots to do & friendly people. Dining is an opportunity for sharing time with friends & keeping up with the news! When there is a complaint about the food I always remind people that when I was doing the cooking we did not always like what I fixed. In that case we ate it anyway. Here we can simply send it back & ask for something else, which the kitchen staff is happy to do for us. Maintenance & housekeeping keep everything running well. It is a home, not an old-age parking place!! Has all levels of care for when you need it.
