I Visited This Facility

Westmont of Brentwood looked nice, but after reviewing the memory care facility, it was depressing and my wife had not progressed to the point where she would accept that or be happy there at all. My wife only has memory problems at this point, no physical needs. I would consider it when she progresses in her dementia. The rooms were small and a number of them didn't have showers. It's very confining.

I liked Westmont of Brentwood. It was community living with more people so it would be much better than looking at the same sick people every day in a three- or four-bedroom house. The staff was very nice. I don't like the location because I have a daughter who lives over in the Peninsula, and for her to get there is about a two-hour drive, but the grounds were fine. The rooms were very nice, clean, and good.

Westmont of Brentwood's facilities are lovely, and its amenities are great. They do light housekeeping, and my parents get their meals there. My mom gets medicine from the med staff. They are happy with their apartment, facility décor, and the meals.

We moved my mom to Westmont of Brentwood on July 29. She's in assisted living and has a very nice apartment. It's larger than what she had before so all of her stuff fits. She likes it there, but she's not crazy about the food. Everybody there is just wonderful, great and helpful. She has people helping her with her showering every other day, so everything else is fine except for the food. They have activities every day, and usually they exercise. They have cardio on Monday, and stretching classes and balancing classes during the week. The rent is OK, but they charge you for everything you need in assisted living.

I toured Westmont of Brentwood, their staff was cordial. The rooms were nice, I saw their 1-bedroom and 2-bedroom units. The dining room was also very nice and the food was excellent. It's a pretty new community, just about 3-4 years old.

I liked Westmont of Brentwood very much. The people and the staff were excellent. They had nice-sized rooms, and the accommodations were very nice. The menu and activities were very good. If I were picking a place for my parents, it would be the one that I would've picked. For what they offer in terms of senior elder care, they had a little bit of an advantage over others. They were very flexible with their food. They had a fixed menu, but if you wanted something else, they'd accommodate people. The activities were good.

1) my mom was acosted in the elevator and the Ex Dir or Program Person did NOT call me. They left it to a our part time med-tech on the night shift. 2) I pay extra for shower because my mom needs the help. They showered for a month w/o telling me that she had open bleeding sores on her back. I just happened to see it when she was changing clothes. 3) They are NOT good at communicating with family members. I am in the facility at least 2x a week. Today I found out that my mom had been wandering around - and going into peoples room NAKED for the last month and half. AND NO ONE BOTHERED TELLING ME. 4) She had a 7 inch cut on her leg. Not sure where that came from. No one told me about that either. 5) Food is bland, boring, not much on salads or veggies, but maybe that what 80 year olds like.

Westmont of Brentwood was very nice and clean. I was very impressed. It seemed like a happy environment, and the staff was very helpful. They had a little workout room, music every Friday where they had singers come in, bingo three times a week, and outings in the bus. They just had a Mother’s Day brunch and reading time where someone did some reading. They had church time on Sundays. I would recommend them to others. The residents seemed very comfortable and happy and liked their apartments. They had a beautiful dining area and beauty shops.
