I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mom was in Lexington Assisted living, and we thought it would work, but she hated it. The other people there seem happy. It was a nice facility, clean, and taken care of. My mom likes to be active, but no one would show up for the activities, so she would be alone waiting for someone to show up. The food was really bad, she hated it, and she ate next to nothing, so she lost five or six pounds. We liked the staff, the staff was good, friendly, and did the job.

I Visited This Facility

I liked Lexington Assisted Living the least for my mother. The rooms didn’t have a sink in the kitchen. If you had to wash a dish, you had to go into the bathroom, which we didn’t care for, and the dining room seemed dark. It seemed more like independent living there. They had a swimming pool, which was really nice, and I think they had a Jacuzzi. It was near Easter when we went one day so they had a big Easter celebration, but then if you were to go the next day, you wouldn’t see anyone because nothing was going on. It really makes a difference the day that you visit. You need to go back at different times of the day to see what’s going on in the facility.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

The Lexington is a nice quiet secure facility with a heated pool, and video cameras throughout. The hired help use radios for communication with ear pieces which is a good way to control annoying noise levels. With the exception of the kitchen and dining room, the people power are long term treasures at the Lxington. The quality and presentation of food served at the lovely dining room is inexcusably bad, too including often running out of the main entree during meal time. These items were not available this Tuesday, morning at breakfast, prunes, prune juice, frozen waffles, tomatoes, wheat bread, english muffins, raisin brand cereal and white bread. Speaking with long term residents they claim the food issues are caused by corporate mindset which provides to the customer the least possible and has not improved over the years. A shameful issue when properly prepared, good food, is one of the basic needs even for senior residence.

I visited The Lexington. The lady was very nice. The place was OK, but for what I needed it for, it was a very small area. It was OK, but I wouldn’t pick it for my father. I checked the dementia care unit, and most of the residents were in their rooms not doing a lot of activities. We would like more activities. There wouldn’t be a lot of stimulations for my father, but I’m sure depending on what you’re looking for, it would be OK. They were very nice and clean and everything.

We liked Lexington's rooms. The only thing we didn’t like was there wasn't a door between the master bedroom and the living room. They had a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi, crafts, and movies. We really liked the dining area. The staff was very nice and knew the residents, and the residents knew them.
