The Forum at Rancho San Antonio is perhaps one of the very best facilities in the Bay Area. I have always found the staff to be professional, friendly, and experienced. Nancy, the Director, has excellent people skills and is a real professional, and couldn't be nicer. The outside dining is lovely and I really enjoyed the occasional bunny jetting through the gardens. Great residents who all seem to love their home.

My husband and I have lived at the Forum for six years very happily. We chose the Forum over 16 other retirement communities that we had visited in the area because the Forum would return our investment if we moved because the children did. The Forum professional management is overseen by an elected resident board, and the location is in a lovely valley next to a large county park. We enjoy living in a community of people (residents and staff) who are kind, caring, and interesting. My husband receives amazing nursing care in the Health Care Center where he has lived at length.

The Forum is a resident owned 64 acre facility, controlled by a Resident Board of Directors, which establishes and oversees it's annual budget, using a professional management company to hire and control the Working Staff. The Resident Directors establish and control reserve funds to insure there is adequate funds to properly maintain the buildings, equipment and grounds. The Community sponsors a large variety of activities, many of which are controlled by resident volunteers. For example one group of volunteers started a Woodworking and Repair Shop to provide free service to other residents and the Staff to augment the Maintenance Staff's, services which are also free. The Committee did all the work to expand the shop the shop three times which now has over 1,000 tools and pieces of hardware. Anyone can join the Committee.

I love the location. We're 10 minutes from shopping, the bank, etc yet we're in the country--with deer, wild turkey, jack rabbits, cottontails, hawks, many birds. We're a warm, friendly, welcoming place. Our staff is competent, kind and thoughtful. Residents are IN CHARGE. Our elected Bd of Directors (all residents) makes all policy decisions and helps management to implement these policies.
