My parents moved into Sunrise last weekend. It's a good place, it's clean, very homey, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I feel they're very well taken care of, but it's a bit of an adjustment right now. The rooms were a combo. They have a 2-bedroom, a small kitchenette, there is no stove, but there's a counter, sink, and a small refrigerator. They have a living room area, a bedroom, and the bathroom has a lot of space and safety features. They have classes, a daily walking class, and another exercise class.

Sunrise of San Marino was more than just an assisted living facility. It has different levels of care from just ordinary to extreme care, which is one of the reasons why Sunrise is the facility that I will probably go to. The person who assisted me during the tour was very nice. They were exercising, but that was for assisted living, not for the memory care area where my husband will be. The dining area looked fine, but he would not be in the dining area, he would be in memory care.

I love visiting because they always decorate for the season and make a big effort to make sure residents are involved with whats happening. Someone is very clever to include the smell of homemade cookies or other treat to give a homey feel. Residents aren't just "tucked away", they are engaged and acknowledged. Rooms are cozy and staff is attentive.

After a recent fall left our almost 90 year old mom with three broken toes and need of assistance for walking and caring for herself, we looked into the short stay "Road Home Program" offered by Sunrise San Marino. What a blessing it was to find this wonderful facility and their amazing staff! It has now been almost three weeks, and my mom is saying she wants to stay - this from a woman who NEVER wanted to move into a senior living home! In her own words, she is "being treated like a queen". Thank you Jackie Marques for making the transition so smooth, and for getting her set up in such a wonderful room with only a few hours notice - you are the best!! Where do I begin to tell you what we love about Sunrise?...First off, the facility is beautifully decorated and very clean and inviting. Upon entering, you will probably be greeted by Charlie - the super sweet Golden Retriever who makes everyone happy and who I am now so attached to! Most importantly, the entire staff is kind, upbeat, caring and lots of fun! They treat each other as well as all the residents with love and respect. There are fun activities to take part in each day, and my mom has already made new friends. Visitors are encouraged and welcomed! We even spent the first couple of nights there with my mom. The meals are incredible, and guests can dine with residents for $10 a meal. The caregivers are very much on top of her healthcare including medication management, and on a recent morning when Mom woke up dizzy, she was pleased to know that help was just a pull cord away!! One week after checking in, Mom celebrated her 90th birthday at Sunrise, and can I tell you that Jackie, Henry, Bertha and Adrian went WAY above the call of duty to make it her best birthday ever!! Fifteen of us got to have a lovely private lunch with mom - order off a special menu - and dine on beautiful tables set with white linens and fresh flowers and balloons - we were speechless! If you are looking for a place for mom and/or dad, make a call today to Sunrise at San Marino - there is no place like it!!
