I Am A Current/Past Resident
The common complaint among residents is lack of parking and dining quality. The grounds and living quarters are very nice and well maintained. As a resident, my main complaint is the quality, variety, and service in the dining rooms, that should be of major importance because of the captive audience. The restaurants are obviously understaffed and the staff is largely high school kids, none of whom are trained before taking on the duties of serving. The recent arrival of a new kitchen manager (expressly not a chef, with experience at a diner) has demonstrated a clear goal of cutting food costs with a concurrent drop in quality, variety and choice. An unwelcome decline. For instance, there has been a major drop in the number and amount of vegetables offered with a simultaneous increase in mashed potatoes (think inexpensive?), a similar lowering of the the number of desserts, and unchanging offerings in the grill and to some degree in the restaurant. The new manager's arrival signaled all of these changes. Considering the monthly cost, this is not a good sign especially with the coming increase in the number of residents. Nothing has been done about the parking. With the number of handicapped residents, I would think that it would be a major priority for upgrading. Although a fairly large administrative staff, the administrative responsibility is not clear. In summary, a very nice place to live, close to outside shopping and services, and well maintained, but sadly very deficient in dining and parking facilities.

Garages are unavailable as well as carports. There is not enough open parking for the residents and very few handicap spaces. Service is limited in all aspects as staffing is inadequate. Dining is very difficult because it takes so long to be seated and served: up to three hours. Organization of facility is unclear. Information on it is limited. A great deal of walking is required to access mail room and dining. Area is beautiful and well maintained. Activities are varied and plentiful.

Stoneridge Creek in Pleasanton is a beautiful new facility. It is plagued by start-up problems including internet service and restaurant problems, both of which are expected to be resolved quickly. Stoneridge Creek has beautiful grounds that are well maintained. Their new library is short on books and magazines, and it does need to have assistive devices available for people with low vision.
