I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

I visit here many times and find it difficult to get to the person I am visiting. The parking for a handicapped person such as myself is horrific and there is usually nowhere to park without an uncomfortable walk. To get to a room is another story. I've had to start bringing a walker to be able to sit half way to the room. I visited a few years ago and found the same problems. I have instructed my family to not put me there, as anyone wanting to visit has a long walk ahead of them. I have friends int the nursing home on Westwold and it is so convenient to park and walk in with no problems nor need for canes/walkers.

I Visited This Facility

Brookdale Riverwalk (Formerly Glenwood Gardens) is exceptional. They've got great programs. It's a wonderful place and it's very clean. The staff is awesome. We saw at least three rooms and we liked the fact that they had a more complete kitchen than other facilities. The rooms were a little on the small side, but I think they're going to be more than fine for my father.

Brookdale Riverwalk was very nice and the staff was very pleasant and informative. The rooms were nice and had patios. They had a courtyard area for everybody, a salon, an exercise room, and housekeeping.

I Visited This Community

Brookdale Riverwalk was nice and had open space behind the facility. They could have nicer things on the fence so they don't look directly out onto a dry riverbed. The staff knew what they were talking about and were very helpful in giving me good suggestions on what to look for and what I could do. They also showed me the kinds of facilities that are available. I liked the idea that you can have two people in the same room with a some separation; to the left is one bedroom and to the right is another bedroom, so it feels like you are not sharing a room and just share a bathroom which is fine because you still have your own privacy. They have a two-hour window where they could go into the dining area and eat at their leisure.
