I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

We moved into Fig Garden, and it's fine. It was one of the cheaper ones places we looked at. They provide food, bus service, and activities. The staff is fine, and I have no complaints. They have rooms for movies and games, and it's halfway decent. I have recommended it to others.

We're on the list for Fig Garden. It was clean, the decor was pleasant, and the service in the dining room was good. We've had lunch there two or three times. The apartments were smaller, but were very well-arranged. The people there were very nice, it was a very friendly atmosphere, and it's in budget. We have a friend who's there right now.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

We moved my mom to Fig Garden. She's in a 1-bedroom apartment with a little efficiency kitchen. There are three floors and her room is at the bottom floor so her unit has direct access to a green belt area. She has her cat with her. They have common areas on each floor where they do activities. On the middle floor, that's where they provide the meals and she gets three meals a day. They can also get fresh fruits, coffee, and snacks whenever they want. We pay the rent, but if we need anything more, like someone to come by and make sure Mom's taking medications, or to help her take a bath, then you pay a little extra for that. It's not all-inclusive, which is great, so you only pay for the things you use. They provide and launder the sheets and towels. They also send a housekeeper once a week to vacuum and clean. It's just right for my mother. They also have transportation. Like if you have a doctor's appointment, you just sign in on the book where you need to go and what time and they make sure you get there. They have activities and entertainment, like Hawaiian Day. There were hula dancers and a luau happening upstairs.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

The apartments in Fig Garden are much larger than you would have in assisted living. It’s probably not as nice as the other one we visited, but it’s larger. My parents are on the bottom floor, which has a big shady lawn where they can just walk to. There’s a dining hall where everybody eats their meals. There are three meals a day, and it’s restaurant style, so you don’t have to be there at a certain time. My husband and brother have tried their food. It’s not gourmet by any means, but there’s nothing wrong. The residents wear pendants around their necks so that if they need help for any reason at all, they just push the button on the pendant. There is no nurse on staff, so if they need medical help, they have to go to the hospital. They have a lot of activities; they have bus trips and a pool table. There’s a snack bar where you can go and get iced tea, coffee, fruit, and things like that for free any time during the day. I’m rating them a 3 because I have toured other places that are very nice, but those places are also very expensive. Fig Garden is affordable for most people, so I would say it’s at the middle of the road.

Fig Garden looked nice and well cared for, and they had nice people. I was looking at independent in the community where they cook meals, and the apartment they showed me was nice.

I Visited This Community

I visited Fig Garden and thought it was nicely set up, very inviting, and had lots of things for the residents to do. I was impressed with the way it looked. There’s computer access, games, and music. If you want to get your hair or nails done, they also have that. The staff people were very friendly, very willing to show me around the facility, and very willing to answer any questions. They had vehicles to take residents shopping or to the doctor with a scheduled time that they will take you.

I went to Fig Garden and spoke to the lady that did all of the activities. I was very impressed with this friendly community. They had very good food. I went into a room that was available, which was a studio, but it was a large studio. I was surprised that it was large. However, it would take all of my sister’s Social Security, and she wouldn’t have any spending money. It was very clean and very neat.

I Visited This Community

I visited Fig Gardens for my father, but he never made it there because he passed away. The carpets needed to be cleaned. That was the major problem I had, but other than that, the rooms were clean. The surrounding areas were not that well kept up. The rooms were relatively nice for the money. I didn't have any complaints about the rooms itself. They had music there on Friday and Saturday nights.
