I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Brookdale Clairemont seems a little unorganized sometimes, but it was physically clean. The staff was very nice and friendly, but when you ask them to do five things they'll probably only do one out of five. There should be better communication.

Brookdale Clairemont is perfect for my mother and the family. There's public transport since I don't drive, and there's parking for family members who drive. The cost was within her budget. I thought that the residents were active, and there were interesting activities, not just banal chair yoga. We felt welcome to visit her at any time, and if we want to sleep over, we're welcome to eat there. We just felt that the people there would suit my mom's personality, and we like the premises with the enclosed courtyard. I had no complaints whatsoever. It was very clean, newly painted, and the bathrooms were prepared with a step-in shower. There was no chipped paint or rust. I liked the workers, and our guide Melissa took us to one of the rooms. She asked for details about my mother like her medication and current level of care. She explained how a nurse would evaluate my mother before moving her from Arizona to California. She spent a lot of time with us, was very patient and didn't rush us. We met a lot of staff from the kitchen, and Dolores from the front desk. Everyone had been there a long time, which is comforting to know because it means they are happy there. The dining area looked fun like a cruise ship dining room, there's plenty of enticing food on the menu. The chef was out in the reception room talking to people. And there are shops and things around the area, so we can take Mom out for a little walk and go to a cafe or shop. It's an excellent location.

Brookdale Clairemont was nice and clean. The person who assisted me was very nice and very patient. I didn't taste any food, but the dining area was nice and clean. They also had a library.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

I’ve been living at Brookdale Clairemont almost three years now. Overall, it is good. I’m the youngest person here at age 72, but I would recommend it. The food is on par with most other places. The help is reliable. Like most places, they’re understaffed but they make do with it. There are lots of activities. They go on trips to casinos and different tours to places, but it is so difficult for me to get around in a wheelchair that I don’t go on any of them. They also have bingo, games, and movie nights. I don’t participate in a lot of them because I have a good TV in my room.

Brookdale Clairemont is nice and clean, but they couldn’t take my wife because she has Parkinson’s disease, and they aren’t equipped to be able to handle somebody like that. They didn’t have any facilities for exercising. Other than that, it was nice. The room was a studio apartment; the dining area was nice. We just talked to one person; she was nice and she answered all of our questions and showed us around.

Brookdale Clairemont is a fairly large facility that is moderately priced. This facility does not accept Medicaid or Medicare. Emergency medical care, shopping, and grocery stores are within four miles of the facility. Beautifully landscaped outside, clean inside, this facility does need to be updated in décor and amenities. Nonetheless, Brookdale Clairemont has a lot of variety in activities, meal selection, services, and amenities. During my visit, the facility appeared to be a little understaffed, but the staff members were friendly and professional. The facility is above average, and the residents seemed to be happy.

My father has lived at Emeritus at Clairemont for 4 years and has been very happy. The staff is very responsive and he is very fond of them. He loves the Mens Group and the casino trips which have helped him make new friends. The management is excellent and very involved and caring and keep us updated. He loves his apartment and likes to sit out on his balcaony. We are so happy he is enjoying this time of life and we owe Emeritus many many thanks.
