I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My dad moved into Brookdale. The director, Joyce, is wonderful. The place is homey, and the people are nice, and not snooty. The staff is loving, and they really care about the people. I had a really good, wonderful feeling about it, and he likes it there, so that's the important part.

Brookdale Auburn was a very good place, but they didn't have independent living. The rooms looked fine. They were clean and well-maintained. The staff did a fine job with the tour.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

My mother is at Brookdale Auburn and we absolutely love it. I had no idea that we could find a place this wonderful for her. She loves the activities, and she loves the people. They have everything: Bingo, exercising, brain flex, and live music. She has already gone on a bus trip, they have happy hour at 3:30, and they had a huge event Thursday night, which was a themed dinner. She's in a 2-bedroom on the third floor, she has a tree right outside the window, we have bird feeders, and she likes it. Her great granddaughters get to spend the night with her. They come in and clean her room from top to bottom every week. They treat the residents with dignity, they don't treat them like patients or clients. Both of the ladies who run it said, "This is where you live, this is your house, we just work here." I thought this was an amazing concept.

I Am A Current/Past Resident

I only stayed there two weeks. I felt very unsafe there. The third night a man got up at a table near me and started screaming 4 letter expletives at a server and I started shaking inside and then out. I couldn't even finish my dinner I was so frightened. Then 2 nights later I was in my own apt. and again a man started yelling at the top of his lungs for about a half an hour. My safety was a big factor. Another problem I had was with my first bill. I signed a contract for $2900 per month and after I moved in I got a bill for $4400 per month. For sure I don't have enough income to cover thatt!! i did like Latuya and the E.D. Leisha very much.
