I think no matter how old you are, when you pull up to this beautiful and luxurious community, you will want to move in yourself. It hardly feels like anything but a luxury resort. From the valet to when you enter the gorgeous entry way you can feel the welcoming warmth that is rare in communities of this size and stature. I especially enjoyed walking onto the patio for the breakfast. I felt like I should almost be looking for celebrities like I was in a high end trendy eatery. Fantastic food, beautiful environment and attentive staff does not come cheap here at Vi at Silverstone, but in exchange for the premium pricing its residents get to choose from some of the apartments out there. What I find fantastic is that as residents go from Independent living to needing more assistance they do not get moved or shuffled into a different area, just more individual help in their same apartment. While there are a good number of activities going on, some did seem a little predictable for seniors. Above average community with above average costs should have above average and more "out of the box" outings and activities.

The need for care in Arizona has always been huge. In different areas some facilities are better than others, and some are pricier than others. I want to say that the VI is my 2nd choice in Arizona, (after the Maravilla), and that there are many reasons for this. It is located in Scottsdale and is a large facility and elegant like the Maravilla. The only thing that I did not care for at the facility it's employees. They lack warmth but are professional and "all business". The community is beautiful and has lots of grass lawns, a golf course, water fountains, and flowers everywhere. Lots of places to sit and take in the view which is breath taking. The entrance is great looking along with the lobby. Beautiful flower arrangements throughout the whole place. The independent living areas are wonderful, but I would like to share some observations on their assisted living at the community. It's very clean and well organized. The apartments are a decent size with handicapped bathrooms and are decorated in pleasant colors, huge closet space and extended digital cable T.V., if you like that sort of thing. Daily "light" housekeeping, including making your bed. Laundering of towels and bed linens as needed. The showers feature built-in seats and assist bar. A nurse call system in case of an emergency. Telephone service with local service is already installed. If you want long distance you have to pay for it separately. Therapeutic diets are accommodated by a nutrition services manager under the supervision of a registered dietician. I really like this fact. Prices include three meals a day served restaurant style. The community has a chef, not a cook and the food he prepares is really wonderful. In room meal delivery is provided if needed. The community also allows pets, but I have never seen any there. Regarding resident care, they do a care plan evaluation before a new resident moves in to assess if more services are needed and if they are needed 24 hours a day. Supervision and assistance with activities of daily living including dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and ambulation services are coordinated with the resident physician and family. Medication management, reminders and assistance as well as assistance with meals are also available. Specialized wellness programs and exercise classes are managed by the care center lifestyle services team. Coordination of medical appointments and 24 hour on site staff are available to assist residents. The community also offers assistance with oral care, hydration, and nutrition monitoring. Very important in Arizona. This community has everything, however, be clear about finances before you tour. The beauty of the community may sway your decision.

    How it works

At Vi at Silverstone offers two different pricing options, depending on the percentage of return. Your entrance fee and monthly fee pay for your apartment home, as well as access to our onsite continuum of care. The entrance fee is a one-time fee paid when you move into the community, and is based on the floor plan and return option you choose. Additionally, your monthly fees - which are directly tied to the floor plan you choose - also cover a range of services including: maintenance of your home, housekeeping, dining, transportation, and more. Should you move or need to access the care center, your independent living monthly fees will not increase, aside from community wide increases, the cost of additional meals and ancillary items as needed.
