I Visited This Facility

Elmcroft is a very nice facility, but it does not offer memory care. The rooms were nice, large, and the people were very nice there. However, they were expensive. The staff was fine, very informative, and answered all my questions.

I Am/Was A Resident Of This Facility

Our mother used to be in Elmcroft of Tempe. Our experience with them was awful. They're mismanaged, they have poorly-trained staff, and a high turn-over. The food was not very good; it depended on the day. My mom was struggling with an infection-related memory issue, and it was a constant battle to get them to communicate. They just thought they could do what they wanted when they wanted to do it and not communicate with our family. My mother landed in the ICU for three weeks because of a major medication error there. The place was pretty clean, but there were lots of issues with the individual rooms.

I Am A Friend Or Relative Of A Current/Past Resident

Elmcroft of Tempe is very nice and the food is adequate. You get what you pay for. My mother has really not been able to participate in any activities due to her health, but they have a lot to do throughout the day. They have cards, movies, exercise, and inspirational reading. It's a very nice place, and everyone that I've run into has been very friendly. Her room is very nice for the money. She's got a one-bedroom apartment and when we signed her up, it was the same price as a large studio. It has a very large living area, a small bedroom, and a very large bathroom. They've got new management, so they're in some learning stages, too. She's only been there for a month now.

I Visited This Community

I am very impressed with the personal relationships the staff have with the residents. I believe this helps the residents of Elmcroft feel very comfortable living in an assisted living environment. Families that come to visit are able to watch their loved ones interact with the staff and I believe this gives them a sense of relief knowing their loved ones are being personally cared for.

I Visited This Community

Facility: Elmcroft is one of my favorite communities in many different areas. The facility is beautiful – it is open, airy, and has contemporary-styled living spaces. There is a light-stained wood floor that really makes the facility look modern, yet cozy. The architecture and design of the facility is breathtaking – there are multi-dimensional ceilings with decorative windows allowing for natural light to fill the common areas. There is also a beautiful rock-designed fireplace that opens up to a nice sitting area. There are so many places available for social gatherings and the residents are always out and about, enjoying all of the services, amenities, activities, and entertainment that Elmcroft has to offer. Elmcroft is another multi-care community, offering Independent & Assisted Living and Memory Care. One downfall – the resident apartments. There are several different floorplans ranging from studios to 1 and (I believe) 2 bdrm suites. The apartments are nice enough, very cozy, but smaller than they should be for the cost, particularly when compared to nearby communities. Staff/Quality of Care: The staff members are very involved in the day-to-day routines of the residents. They seem to be very committed to maintaining a safe and happy living environment. There are several programs unique to Elmcroft, including a wonderful health and wellness program that is very individualized for each resident. Elmcroft is a great community offering a ton of options. Yes, the apartments are smaller than most, but it’s fine for residents who prefer to spend more time out of their apartments then in them.
