Description of Parkway Village

When simplifying senior living is what you want, Parkway Village is here.

Independent Living:

At Parkway Village, independent living truly is independent. You’ll have the freedom to come and go as you please without the responsibility of home and yard maintenance and upkeep, but with the peace of mind that a gated community with 24-hour security brings.

You’ll have your choice of residences, from a studio apartment home to a spacious patio home. And you can decorate it to match your personality. It’s your home.

Enjoy the luxury of fine dining with meals prepared by our culinary-school trained chef and served by full-service wait staff. Gather with friends in the dining room or take it home to your own dining table. Select your choice of entrees at both lunch and dinner, including Heart Healthy options, or go light with the soup and salad bar. It’s your choice.

Swim daily in our heated enclosed pool or relax in the whirlpool. Enjoy water aerobics, water volleyball, painting classes, or table games. Join a book club or knitting group. Get in shape with a toning class or watch a movie–all without leaving the premises. And with scheduled outings, enjoy the provided transportation or drive your own vehicle.

And bring along your “best friend”! We welcome pets up to 50 pounds.

Assisted Living:

For when you want to maintain the independence and dignity of living alone but desire support with daily living activities, Parkway Heights assisted living is available. Located on the beautiful gated grounds of Parkway Village, we are licensed by the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care as an Assisted Living Level II Facility.

We provide an intermediate level of support, 24 hours a day, with services such as three meals served daily; assistance, as needed, with personal care (dressing, bathing, grooming, ambulation with or without a device); and medication administration.

You can choose to participate in activities planned by our activities director or pursue your own hobbies and interests. Complimentary transportation can take you to medical appointments.

You also experience peace of mind with staffing by licensed RNs, LPNs, and CNAs, and access to the Parkway Village Senior Clinic.

Parkway Heights assisted living provides safety and security, and at the same time, a carefree environment that will ensure your comfort and enjoyment. If you are ready for additional services to lighten the burden of daily living, Parkway Heights is the perfect place to call home!

Memory Care:

Deciding how to care for a loved one with Alzheimer’s disease or another form of dementia may be one of life’s hardest decisions. The Ginny and Bob Shell Alzheimer’s Center at Parkway Village began out of a need and vision to care for adults with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The Shell family recognized the need and partnered with Baptist Health and Parkway Village to create the first free-standing memory care center in Arkansas.

Our mission is to provide excellent care for our residents, recognizing their unique abilities and needs with dignity, purpose, and Christian compassion. Our staff receive special training to meet the challenges associated with caring for individuals with memory loss.

We are licensed by the Arkansas Office of Long Term Care as an Assisted Living II Facility. We’re also certified as an Alzheimer’s Special Care Unit. We provide enhanced care and a specialized program of activities for patients with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease or a related disorder. The activities encourage residents to maintain as much independence as possible and retain a sense of dignity and purpose.

We also address the needs of family members, giving them comfort and peace of mind with the knowledge their loved one is surrounded by a team dedicated to providing the best care available. We support and care for them through a monthly family support group, and we are always available to answer questions, help alleviate concerns, and offer encouragement. The family becomes an important part of the care team, helping to make the best decisions for their loved one as their condition progresses.
