The Atrium of Carmichael was the best and my parents' favorite. They liked the water feature and the apartments were a little larger than the other places and had more things they were interested in. They had kitchen equipment, so you could cook, but mostly they love being right down the water. The staff during the tour was great and very nice, well informed, and did whatever my folks asked her to do. They also liked the dining room, and the food was good and suited their tastes. There's an ambulance service right next door with EMTs, and my mother thought that would be a really good thing.
I was impressed with The Atrium of Carmichael. It was pretty nice. The staff who gave me the tour was impressive too. She was knowledgeable about things and she did a good job. I like the idea of the room having a built-in kitchen table which impressed me.
Personally I think you should turn around and go some place else. I've been familiar with this facility for 2 years and it has continued to go down hill yet the rate went up again. The cutbacks have been tremendous. Cutback on food portions, cutback on activities, cutback on service. Before you move your loved one in, think about what's most important to them. My loved one has nothing but TV and going to the dining room for lunch and dinner. Well, the wait time and the quality of food has taken that one joy from her life. Granted, these people love to complain but my loved one isn't a complainer...at least not until she saw all the cutbacks going on. Don't let the newly painted entry and dining room fool you. Here's an example of their lunch (the bigger meal of the day) while the dining room was being painted. A bagged lunch containing a 8 oz. bottle of water, small apple, small cup size salad, a hard roll and a rice crispy treat and small bag of potato chips. The staff is over-worked so they're quitting one by one.
We visited Atrium of Carmichael and we liked it a lot. It was a very nice, beautiful facility. They have a beautiful suite that was available, everything was very clean and nice, but Mom did not want to move that far away. Also, I was disappointed that trips to the doctor are up to a certain distance, and you have to pay if you are past that distance. The staff member was very friendly, and she seemed to know the names of all the people she passed by.
The Atrium was fine. I'm familiar with it, and the rooms were excellent. We had lunch there, and the food was excellent. I thought they were very friendly and that everything was easy going. They seemed to have everything you need.
This community is managed by Capital Senior Living which is one of the largest senior living providers. The Company operates 115 senior living communities in the United States. This Carmichael location is an active independent community located near shopping, within walking distance of a large Elk's Lodge which has a great indoor pool and just a short drive to a very active senior center called Mission Oaks Community Center. Your first impression is of a beautifully landscaped community with water features and mature trees. The common areas are spacious with high ceilings and lots of natural lighting. Even though this is a very active community, if you don't want to drive, they provide transportation to doctor's, shopping, and outings. The staff are very friendly and really go out of their way to make sure you feel at home.
Visiting this community is like a wonderful venture into a park like setting that is serene, relaxing and comfortable. The area is alive with wild animals;from ducks, to humming birds and a colorful array of very healthy Koi to greet you when you reach the entry. There is ample parking for the residents, visitors and professionals around the entire community. The apartments are spacious with added storage space. The residents appear happy, involved and active. The sales team is most helpful, and provides information about other services available in the area. Although I did not taste the food, empty plates were an indication that it was indeed satisfying.
This facility is very quiet and laid back. Cool atmosphere and a fun environment. They just had an event where a room was set up like a game show and residents and other vendors are participated to win prizes!
